What surprises me that these very people who wanted the so called Archaic and out of touch car companies to be killed (remember one yahoo correspondent-ess - who said GM must die) are now supporting these companies. Are people so short-memoried, fickle and short-sighted?

Not really, but the media is. Herd mentality rules the roost. I'll bet most of the media types out thee spend half their day watching the competition's news and then regurgitating their version of it.

Perhaps I misunderstand your point, but what you wrote seems to make no sense. This isn't "short-memoried, fickle and short-sighted".

Yahoo News publishes news from various sources (in this case Reuters). They don't edit and publish stories from only one perspective (e.g. Fox News). Therefore you should expect stories with different perspectives.
