January 6, 200917 yr I had quite the day, today. I gawked over many vehicles I didn't think I would have the chance to look at. I even got to start up an LP560. Talk about an exhaust note. It's pretty much the equivalent to automotive heaven. Here's a minor list of all my nifty sights. Bugatti Veyron Alfa Romeo 8C Alfa Romeo Spyder Alfa Romeo 164 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera Lamborghini Countach Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Ferrari 430 Scuderia Ferrari 360 Modena Ferrari F355 Ferrari 550 Maranello Ferrari 308 Ferrari F1 Racer Maserati GT Maserati Merak Maserati Quattroporte Porsche 911 Carerra Porsche Cayman Porsche 968 Porsche 944 Racer Porsche 911 (964) Lotus Exige S Lotus Europa Lotus Elan Lotus Esprit Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed Bentley Continental GT Speed Jaguar XF Jaguar XJR Jaguar XKR Jaguar E-type Jaguar XK140 BMW M3 BMW M5 BMW X6 BMW M1 Mini Cooper (original) Audi TT-S Audi A5 Caterham Super-7 Morris Minor Traveller Quite the list, eh? January 6, 200917 yr Haha....actually he's not kidding. No dreaming or PS3. Though when the guy said the keys to the $240,000 LP560-4 were on the dash and to "get in and start it up...rev it up!" I had to go back and ask him if he was serious a minute later. He was, it *ROARS*
January 6, 200917 yr I feel really bad about it, but I was secretly hoping you got in a fender bender like I did. But that's awesome dude! Where were you?
January 6, 200917 yr Author Where were you?! Chris and I met up finally (sort of unexpectedly, at that) and we romped around the Detroit area to all the sweet exotic dealerships. Alot of the cars, I wasn't expecting to be there. Who walks into a Maserati dealership to find an Alfa 8C sitting in the showroom. I never expected to see a Veyron... ever, either. Such beautiful cars. And the exhaust note of that Lambo LP560 is to die for. I think I could settle for one to replace the Jetta.
January 6, 200917 yr You are the envy of C&G. Sounds like a lot of fun! Edited January 6, 200917 yr by Dodgefan

January 7, 200917 yr Sure does sound fun. Got any pics? Hah yea we were sort of lamenting about not having any pics afterwards. I didn't really want to stroll into the high end dealers with a DSLR on my shoulder and Cory didn't have his camera with him.

January 7, 200917 yr Author Sure does sound fun. Got any pics? Nah. I wasn't expecting to be in Detroit, let alone to visit those dealerships, so I had left my camera at home. You were in my area and didn't visit? It was a spur of the moment thing. I had a situation where I had to drive to Indiana and back and needed a place to crash for night. Next time, when I actually plan a trip to Detroit, I'll have to visit everyone from over yonder.
January 7, 200917 yr Damn, that's a long list of stuff, I too am jealous. :useless: C'mon! If I ever came face to face with a Bugatti Veyron, and my camera was at home, AND my cell phone's camera was non-functional I'd run to the nearest ATM and then drug store to get one of those $8 disposables... how do you NOT have photos of these cars!?
January 7, 200917 yr How the hell do you end up in Detroit, without having EXPECTED it when you live in central Penn....? What did you run out for a pack of smokes and make a wrong turn & not realize it for 250 miles?
January 7, 200917 yr OMG, Craigslist M4M must make ppl do crazy things. AHAHHA i love going on there just to look at the pathetic souls... speaking of unexpected trips ive randomly decided that i will be driving down to FL on Monday
January 8, 200917 yr Author I think it's ironic since he just got a camera too. Tell me about. How the hell do you end up in Detroit, without having EXPECTED it when you live in central Penn....? What did you run out for a pack of smokes and make a wrong turn & not realize it for 250 miles? Haha... It's a bit further than 250 miles. It's actually a long story. To keep it short, I unexpectedly had to drop someone off in central Indiana (don't ask, for the sake of my sanity) and I had done so without getting any sleep previous to the trip. By the time I was on my way back, I was completely exhausted and Chris let me crash at his place, which wasn't too big of a detour from where I was at the time. After I had gotten sleep and whatnot, the next day we went out to explore some places and went to all those dealerships. Meanwhile, my nice new camera was left at home due to not needing to take it along to drop this person off. A pity, I know. I plan on driving over again since it's not as demanding of a drive as I thought it was. Chris and I will make sure to make another run to all those places just for pictures.
January 8, 200917 yr Sounds like a good time. I've gotten into my car with the intention of getting gas down the street and ended up in Arkansas.
January 8, 200917 yr Here is the Gallardo LP560-4 we were in. http://www.lamborghinioftroy.com/vehicle.asp?v=633062 In this economy, I bet they'd leap at an offer of $210-215k. Call now!
January 8, 200917 yr Do I sense that Love is in the Air? Yes. ...when the sales guy wasn't looking, I mated with 3 of the 4 exhaust pipes on the Gallardo.
January 8, 200917 yr Yes. ...when the sales guy wasn't looking, I mated with 3 of the 4 exhaust pipes on the Gallardo. Ran out of fluid for the fourth one?
January 8, 200917 yr Well I only had a few moments... At least you should have caressed it to not let it feel being left out.

Cool!
January 8, 200917 yr If i remember that Veyron is in a bad color i think because I remember going wow it doesn't look right in that color.
January 8, 200917 yr Author Those exhaust tips are the Gallardo were huge. I don't think there was any satisfying it.
January 8, 200917 yr Those exhaust tips are the Gallardo were huge. I don't think there was any satisfying it. But those certainly satisfied Chris. Three out of four in no time that is some effort from Mr. Doane.
January 9, 200917 yr Author But those certainly satisfied Chris. Three out of four in no time that is some effort from Mr. Doane. I'm just not as good as him. *sigh*
January 9, 200917 yr At least you should have caressed it to not let it feel being left out. Uh...I gave it a reach-over?
January 9, 200917 yr Chris you should get Cory a job with Helen Priddy Inc. Actually at one point we were joking that you and Cory could start PA's first gay garage.
January 10, 200917 yr HA, I said Helen and her name's Brenda. I should have remembered that. I must have had her filed in my brain next to Helen Reddy.
January 10, 200917 yr Author Actually at one point we were joking that you and Cory could start PA's first gay garage. In this scenario, Ocn could do the bodywork and I could... uh... Drive and photograph any fun ones that come in? Sure.
January 13, 200917 yr HA, I said Helen and her name's Brenda. I should have remembered that. I must have had her filed in my brain next to Helen Reddy. Hah I was wondering if you'd meant to do that.
