January 21, 200917 yr I've got a Crafstman set with 80-billion sockets, its still a pain in the ass. Diesels use glow plugs, no spark plugs involved anywhere in the process. Like I said, totally different plugs. Spark plugs, glow plugs, some kind of plug.
January 21, 200917 yr Ford did offer a diesel Continental and Mk VII in '84-85, though...so the question wasn't totally out there. The diesel was a 6, so it probably had totally different plugs. How many diesels do you know that have spark plugs?
January 21, 200917 yr I've got a Crafstman set with 80-billion sockets, its still a pain in the ass. The point of the MetWrench set is that it fits both imperial and metric in the same socket. I've used the very set I linked you to when I rebuilt the front end on that '96 Roadmaster Estate. You'd need half as many sockets.
January 21, 200917 yr Author If you go ask for spark plugs and the guy behind the counter asks if they're for a diesel, hit him.

January 24, 200917 yr No idea...though I owned a diesel and like them in general, I've never analysed the components in one. Spark plugs are the one component in a gasoline engine that a diesel will never ever have.
February 14, 200917 yr Could just get a Gator Grip, then I'd only need one socket. Actually, you need two sockets. There is a small Gator Grip and a large one. I bought them to attempt to remove some locking wheel lugs... didn't work... in fact the Gater Grips, IMHO are useless for most 6 point fasteners. OTOH, its great for ratcheting a wing nut or some of those funky plastic fasteners.
