Some more boattail goodness:

Glorious.

You guys know I'm not much of a Buick fan - but I've always made an exception for these boattails.

Has to be one of the top ten most creative production bodystyles ever to come out of GM's studios.

I'd take mine in '71 trim.

Yeah, it's huge, but what lines!

Now that''s cool. I like how they put the license plate bracket on the opposite side of the exhausts and shaped it the same. That's attention to detail.

beaut of a car.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect '71 for a few years now; I'd love to find one soon!

A "Hybrid" meant you dropped a 396 & M22 out of a totaled '67 Chevelle SS into a chopped

Well I already own one of my favorite Riviera's, add a '65 GS and a '71 Riv in there and I'd be set.

This fellow has a lot of other interesting road tests on his You Tube site - a 1969 Impala with a 396 2 bbl (0 to 60 in 13.7 seconds), a 1969 LTD with a 428, a 1973 Cutlass 455, a 1971 Cutlass 442 with 455, and many others.

Perfect sequence: Riv going thru the turn (58 sec ~ 1:04). Great, also, to hear that BB Buick roar- Buick's haven't snarled like that... since there were Buick engines...

Just watched the '63 Galaxie vs. Impala- and tho they didn't tell any accel times, by watching the flagman shrink to a spec as quick as he did; both these "top-engine" cars were flat hauling ass (1:24 & 1:45 sec)... info says 406 & 409 V-8... 4bbl 409 Impala was good for 0-60 in around 6.6 sec. Wonder how much quicker 427 cars would've appeared.
