January 27, 200917 yr GM announced 2000 job cuts today. What shocked me was reading Cobalt production dropped from 21,000 in June to 13,000 in December. Maybe GM should look into pushing up the introduction of the Cruze.
January 28, 200917 yr Cobalt sales have been bad, in 2004, the Cobalt was thought to be GM's small car savior and it wasn't. Now they are saying the same about the Cruze, so we shall see what happens. The Cobalt just isn't competitive enough, even with high gas prices and now a down economy when people might look for a smaller and less expensive car it isn't selling. Interesting that they are laying off people at the Enclave-Acadia factory, so I guess the Enclave is not such a hot seller after all.
February 4, 200917 yr Compared to most of the compacts out there, it's just about a steaming pile of poo. ( And I own one) Looks as boring as a Corolla, no updates since introduction. (a new steering wheel doesn't count) It's saving grace is it's powertrain, and that they have a fairly good discount. Granted, I like mine (though the seats suck), but most people seem to be avoiding them...I've never seen so many just sitting on dealership lots......
