February 9, 200917 yr Bob Lutz to Retire at the End of 2009 GM today announced that Bob Lutz will step down at the end of 2009. Starting April 1st, he will transfer into a new role as Vice Chairman and Senior Adviser. His replacement, at least for the time being, will be Thomas Stephens, who is currently serving as GM’s Executive Vice President, Global Powertrain and Global Quality. We at C&G wish to thank Mr. Lutz for all he as done for GM. Nearly all that is positive about GM these days is somehow his doing. The new Malibu, the LaCrosse, the Kappa cars, the Volt, the Camaro - all his. His quotes kept us energized and entertained. Bob, you will be missed.
