February 19, 200917 yr I thought Fly started it because he started all the other ones. Maybe it was NOS. I don't know anymore. Maybe it is time to start a new one.
February 19, 200917 yr But Rock VS Millenia will always hold a special place in our hearts...a truly epic saga.
February 19, 200917 yr Well, in honor we could do Toyota Prius vs. a piece of $h!. I can't wait for that!
February 19, 200917 yr Wouldn't it make more sense to compare a Camry, since the Millenia is a big sedan? Plus, then we can do comparisons with engine sludge...
February 19, 200917 yr OK, I am going to jump into the FWD versus RWD debate and state that I hate them both. Unless it is dry streets or wet streets at the most, they both have positives and negatives. FWD, I see the benefits in Snow and Ice, but for most people they do not drive in that and this leaves them with what I see as a big downside. Torque steer, I am big and strong, but feel one should never have their steering wheel whipped out of their hands if you punch hard on the gas pedal. Love the lack of a bump in the floor for more leg room, but the whole Torque Steer that even 4 bang econo box's have is a deal breaker as I feel it is a safety hazard. RWD, Unless the auto has a posi rear end, I hat that in snow or ice you give it some gas and your ass comes around to kiss your face. That whole passenger rear tire thing sucks for handling. For Pickups especially a lite ass means you flail all over. Answer: AWD - AWD is the bomb and why I only have it as my auto's to drive. Personally I see no reason not to have it in all Auto's since it is the ultimate in traction and safety be it dry, wet, snow or ice. One down side is reduced MPG. But then personal quality of life / safelty is far more important than fuel efficiency in my book. You cannot replace a loved one or take an injury away by driving an Eco Box Coffin on Wheels. So I will stick with my Escalade ESV Platinum and the rest of my AWD vehicles / 4x4's for ultimate safety. AWD ROCKS!!!
February 19, 200917 yr Only idiots can't drive in the snow with RWD or FWD..and if you can't drive in the snow with that there is little hope AWD will keep your retarded ass from hitting something. Case in point: AWD plow truck hit a parked car on my street last night.
February 19, 200917 yr Only an idiot insists that everyone has to have RWD and that anyone with a FWD car is they themselves an idiot.
February 19, 200917 yr Yes, I think one of the admins has the site backed up on their computer. Perhaps it's there.
February 21, 200917 yr DF: You have heard of sarcasm, right? Granted I'm being semi-serious, but when I did show-boat in the hardtop Benz w/you did I do so through a school zone or a residential area? No, I got on Rt.3, picked an empty lane and I brought it up to 100+ to show you how solid the car was. And just when you asked how good the brakes were I demonstrated that if I hit them hard enough it would probably pop the damn windshield out & maybe even give us both a nasty case of seat belt bruise. Or at least the empty highway. Yeah... I do, for the most part, which is why I got a ticket for doing 91mph on Rt.495 the other day. At least it was in a 65mph zone, I was only about three miles away from the stupid 55mph zone. $260, but I'm fighting it. After all I was def. doing at least 93mph when I saw him, so his radar gun was highly inaccurate. Plus this isn't some desolate rural area, this is f@#king Lowell. Uhhh... when exactly is the last time you drove down Gorham St. from the Car Wash into Billerica at 3:00am? The only thing in the damn way is a few closed Liquor Stores and a 1/4 mile long Cemetery o the right. Time & Place. :AH-HA_wink: And yes, I'm familiar with N.E. Dragway, my '68 Camaro visited there quite often. Esp. the Right lane. Anyway the point is if you want to have some fun & feel like you're ALIVE, driving like you're on the set of "Dukes of Hazard", 3:00am on an empty WIDE straightaway is about as good as it gets. You live in a neighborhood that's packed with houses as tight as a can full of Sardines. If you have some fu$ktards in Ricer-Rockets driving like that through your THICKLY SETTLED residential neighborhood don't take it out on me, get some plate numbers and call the cops.
February 23, 200917 yr Anyway, the funny thing about this thread's timing is that in the next few weeks I'll be buying Julie a car and the mid-1990s BMW 530i is a strong contender. Ideally I'd like to find her exactly what she wants: a BMW 5-series Kombi, but they're scarce for soe reason. My personal choice for her is a 735iL that's on Craigslist. . . . . And as far as the Aurora & Millenia, NEITHER are being considered, though a late-1990s GP-GTP I might go take a look at is a bit tempting... it's got like $10,000 worth of receipts from just the past couple years. The seller is a mechanic and the car seems to be mint in the mechanical realm.
February 23, 200917 yr phish to phry. Dude, this isn't myspace and you're not a sixteen year old girl.
February 23, 200917 yr Ummmm.... okay. I'm not sure why you decided to take that one (agreably lame) quote and highlight it as a DON'T. This is a GM forum where we have 18-page long threads making fun of one of our proudest, most beloved brands. How about you go

February 23, 200917 yr Yeah... I have this gut feeling that's telling me to go with the 735iL. It's perfect for the tow kids, those HUGE baby-carriers take up a lot of room, that's Julie's complaint with the Benz, she's pressed up into the dash, both when she's driving and when we go on long car rides or road-trips cause Amelia's seat & Sofia's booster are both so bulky. Back on point: A nice driving/riding 530i is nothing I'd shy away from but I do beleive that BMW's excell the most with their slant-HEMI 6 motors.

This is a GM forum where we have 18-page long threads making fun of one of our proudest, most beloved brands. How about you go Because writing with $ymb0ls and numb3r$ !$ incredibly lame to me. Replacing letters with non-letters and using it as a word does not constitute the English language. With that, substituting a sound for another sound or letter (like 'ph' for 'f') also does not spell out English. I rather read English than the crap you tend to write. And the Pontiac EXCITEMENT!!!!!!! thread is a Roast of Pontiac, and it does help you understand how much $h! that brand has used and badged as "exciting" vehicles and why it's going down the drain. We like to remember the GTOs and Trans Ams but fail to remember the real gems, like the Sunfire and Aztek. /rant
February 23, 200917 yr I myself hate texting lingo... & the dumbing down of the current generation. That being said even with English as my second language I KNOW and properly use it more than, and I'm DEAD serious about this, 90% of the people I interact with, both blue or white collar. I sometimes, okay, often times goof off, like me & XP's retarded, just for fun referance to our group of friends as the "TIGHT WHIPS car club", and while that may annoy you or whatever your beef is, there are plenty of things that drive me effin insane.... like for instance: People who do not differentiate between: Theirs There's, You're Your, Elusive vs. Allusive vs. Illusive etc. Now go pop-up your collar & chillax. Just cause you miss your 3800-III powered 4th gen. Camaro is no reason to take it out on me! also: I use "Phish" all the time cause I went to High School with a bunch of snobby drugged up retarded silver-spoon-in-mouth poseurs, at one point almost every one of the true "in crowd" sheeple listened to Phish & had the Grateful Deat bumper stickers on their Hondas & Lexuses. I may be very sloppy about my spelling... sorry. I work 10-15 hours a day, and a good amount of time on C&G is a luxury I usually do not have. Still just because I joke around in Ebonics and at times write sloppy does not mean I'm a retard, honestly have you read the average post on the internet these days? Though, if you are looking at 530's at least do yourself the service of getting a 540 with the 6-speed of course. Granted, you are looking for a touring so you are kinda limited to 525 and 530...unless you can be lucky enough to find a 540 or an M5...which would be near impossible...And anyway, why import the 540 touring when you can import the M5 touring, which a couple guys have done. They've showed up to Bimmerfest..man those things are awesome.
February 23, 200917 yr It does not HAVE to be a wagon. I love the look of the mid-1990s BMW 5-wagons. I think it's be BEST looking wagon since the old school 1950s & 1960s BOPs w/ 455s & vista roofs.... the thing is it seems there's almost no 5-wagons out there for cheap that do not have one MAJOR flaw. Like, for instance a blown trans or severe body damage. The 7-series L is great for the awesome back seat & the I6 would return good MPGs. WIN-WIN.
February 24, 200917 yr So just curious, is this BMW you're after the car she wants or the car you want?
