it says there will be no change in current cooperative arrangements, but what of the future? weren't there supposed to be several joint projects in chryslers near future?

Just the upcoming Caliber/Compass/Patriot, and the upcoming Sebring/Avenger, are based on a shared Mitsubishi Lancer platform. I believe the Sebring/Avenger is on a stretched version of the Lancer shared platform. Mitsubishi, rebadges the Dakota to sell as the Raider, and there is the shared design of the 4 cyl world engines (along with Hyundai)......and that's pretty much it. I don't expect to see much else in the future.
