Nitrogen in Shell Gas????

Featured Replies

What the HELL is this going to do? Sounds like some shenanigans!

CadillacKing3 gas has carbon in it!!!! CELEBRATE!!!

Supposedly, it acts as a detergent to clean the innards of your engine. Still sounds gimmicky. I bought Shell Saturday, didn't notice any nitrogen signs. A google turned up many articles, here's the first from the Car Tech blog..

Nitrogen gas info

So, basically, a bunch of Shell engineers farted in the gas at the refinery before shipping it out in a tanker truck?

No wonder the Shell engineers think their **** doesn't stink, they fart nitrogen!

I got some of the shell gas with nitro and did not really notice much of a differance. The auto still ran smooth and fine.

Eh, fine to me.

The now retuned G8 really enjoys and purrs on its 93 octane Shell, and maybe will like it more now. Sounds interesting.

Doesn't a good healthy fart contain nitrogen?

Pretty much anything that is related to gas (not the fuel) has nitrogen in it. The earth's atmosphere is full of it.

Most likely there is at least some nitrogen in there, some methane, and just the right amount of hydrogen sulfide gives it that special "essence". :AH-HA_wink:

BTW: If they do fart in the gasoline at Shell, stay away from the No.2 diesel fuel.
