I will add changes to other models as they become available.

Looks like they are going to stick the 3.0L in everything! Between these two Caddies, the LaCrosse, the Equinox... I wonder if it will replace the 3.5 or 3.9 in the Impala too?

I'm going to doubt it.

True, GM will milk the last standing W body without any investment.

GM should put the SIDI 3.0 in the Malibu and then put the SIDI 3.6 at 280+ hp and call it Malibu Sport.

Exterior color (GGX) Tuscan Bronze ChromaFlair. Available at extra charge.

This sounds interesting....

Impatiently awaiting the rest of the updates for '10. :)

If it was 1958, we'd be talking "Magic-Mirror Acrylic Laquer".

And triple tone paint schemes w/ wide whites...

I just think the name "ChromaFlair" is really, really outdated and "gee-whiz" sounding. Cue the 1950s TV announcer: "NOW! with CHROMAFLAIR!!"

This I could see them doing, especially to compete with the Fusion Sport and the Maxima.

That's the reaction I got to "Flannel Gray".

I like how retro it sounds, also the Thunder Gray Chromaflair colour on the DTS is really nice.

While visiting my local Cadillac dealer today (for Service), I spoke to the Sales Manager, and he had recently attended a meeting of Cadillac dealers. He said the GM representative told them the DTS will be offered through '09 and for model year 2010. Then in 2011, there will only be the CTS and STS (no DTS) and then sometime during model year 2012, the single vehicle will be introduced to replace the STS (and the discontinued DTS slot in the line-up)--possibly called a "DT7" model. Although it will supposedly be shorter than the current DTS, yet offer the same interior room. They also expect increased federal gasoline taxes and increased CAFE requirements.

Don't shoot me--I'm only the messenger! :smilies-38096:

>>"And triple tone paint schemes "<<

That was a MoPar thing (Packard & Hudson dallied with it, too) - GM didn't do any factory tri-tones IIRC.

I know most all of the '50s names well, but 'ChromaFlair' doesn't ring period to me.

The name is no big deal to me either way, just tossing my 2 cents in.

It'll be sad to see the DTS go, I've always seen myself owning one someday... or at least some big Cadillac. The STS isn't as nice IMO but I'm glad it's going to stay around. Despite not being 'plush' enough for my tastes, with a clunky interior look (I hope they address this between now and 2012, but I ain't holding my breath) It's a step in the right direction in terms of driving dynamics and approach.

i saw the cts wagon (touched it!) and the new srx at the auto show last week. both are sexy! the cts wagon in partiuclar really gets one moist. hot wagon. the sedan is so good though, that it'd be hard to choose!

  • 1 month later...

I figured 2010 would be the end for the DTS, I will miss it too Von. I always had a soft spot for extra large luxo FWD barges.

+1

Caddy web site now says availability of the CTS Sport Wagon is Fall 09 instead of the previous Spring 09. Ugh...
