2010 Model Year Chevrolet Trucks Changes and New Features

Looks like the 2010 5.3 and 6.0's get VVT and a slight HP bump. Saw it on another site but are the 5.3 numbers:

5.3

Nice.

After futher research the L76 V8 from half-ton Silverado/Sierra/Yukon XL/Suburban has been dropped. The only engine left is the L96 for HD trucks/SUV's and the low hp verison for certain DRW (box deleted) trucks. So yes the 4.8 and 5.3 have all recieved VVT. Power for the new 4.8L Vortec is 302hp and for the new 5.3L Vortec is 326hp. The 6.0L in either HD or half-ton form had VVT from the start in 2007 FYI. Anyways that is great news, and also the six speed automatic is now standard on even more engines.

Here's another site with more complete details: Link

I was really hoping for a crew cab 6.5" box so I might be looking at a 3/4 ton, but the 6.2 with 3.73 rear end sounds like fun. Hope it's rated at least 12/18 mpg or better.

didn't the 5.3L have VVT? just revised numbers for E-85 usage....? ok, maybe a few more HP for gas...

or am i just thinking of the W-body's 5.3L?

does anyone know when we will get a 2500 HD to compare or at least compete with the Ford? Ford is kicking tail on the 2500 market. everyone you speak to say that it looks like a beast on the road..... bring us a Silverado Beast! :unitedstates:
