Dodge finally adds a five-speed automatic to V6 Challenger SE

One of the weakest points of the base V6-equipped Dodge Challenger SE has been the transmission. Chrysler saddled the SE with the old four-speed automatic instead of the Mercedes designed five-speed used in the V8 models. Chrysler used the occasion of an LX owners meet this weekend to debut a new SE Rallye edition that finally gives the V6 the extra ratio it needs. The Rallye also gets hood and decklid stripes, and five spoke 18-inch wheels. Hopefully Chrysler tightens up the suspension a bit to eliminate some of the floatiness of the SE. The SE Rallye will reportedly run $26,490 after production starts next month.

Now if they can just make the manual n option...

looks a little better. still can't beat a camaro. ;) lol

i really appreciated the challenger a lot more after seeing the 010 mustang and sitting in the 010 camaro at the auto show. the challenger feels unique and i am glad they have it on the market. to have all three of these cars available is a good thing.

I agree. Although the Challenger isn't the car that the Camaro is, it's still a great contender, and it has great presence on the street. Still gets alot of looks. The Mustang, on the other hand, is plain ole' boring and washed up. It's getting to be more and more generic since it seems that 90% of them are the cheap V6 versions.

mustang is slated for the 3.7v6 and hopefully the twin turbo 3.5 as well. those would be the mustangs i would want. i agree the next mustang needs a bit of a new aesthetic.

i actually like the challenger's interior the most of the 3. the camaros design is awesome but materials are bad and the windows are non existent.
