March 31, 200916 yr Wow its been so long since I've been on these boards. Getting ready to end my deployment and come home. It seems GM has changed quite a bit, has quite a few problems at its feet, but I think it will recover. Thinking of getting a new car when I get home. undecided between a G8 GXP Camaro SS or Corvette
March 31, 200916 yr Welcome back! Glad to hear that you are returning home soon. On the car choices, I can't fault you on any of the three. :AH-HA_wink:
March 31, 200916 yr Author Welcome back! Glad to hear that you are returning home soon. On the car choices, I can't fault you on any of the three. :AH-HA_wink: lol, the requirements were +400 horsepower, and a manual transmission. not too many cars that fit that bill... but I cant decide between practicality and style. seeing that Im getting a divorce no kids, doesnt really matter what its used for, but pleasure is a must.
March 31, 200916 yr Glad to here everything is going well at least somewhat good. I say Camaro SS! It looks like an exotic going down the road.
March 31, 200916 yr that has to be the ugliest viper ever made... You're right, it's some weird hybrid of the first gen and second gen Viper. Actually, looking at it closely, it's a 3D model someone created. Got some real (and better) photos up now.
March 31, 200916 yr Wouldn't be DF if he didn't suggest the Pentastar products... You got that right.
March 31, 200916 yr You got that right. Ya, got to have the Mopies...all good choices also. From Ford, well, the GT500 is about the only one w/ that much power.

How about. . .
April 1, 200916 yr Hey Newbie, get home safely soon, so you can order your new Camaro SS! Glad to hear you're ditching the ho. Now you can have some real fun when you get home. Best of luck, sir.
April 1, 200916 yr your three choices are indeed great. why not a ctsv too? "Pleasure is a must". I love it.
April 1, 200916 yr Author Might I also suggest: Welcome back! Glad you're back. Cadillac has your car waiting.... certainly havent looked very hard at the dodge products, really didnt like the charger platform when they were on our used lot, didnt like the suspension or steering. Maybe it would be worth while to try one out, but i have always leaned toward GM. I was thinking about the CTS-v on the last gen, but I think i've been over here while the specs of the new one came out. dont really know what its all about. 1.)if someone would kindly catch me up, Pontiac sports truck is done? what about the GMC sports truck? 2.)Traverse is currently out? and is it selling well? 3.)Camaro this is its first month? so we'll see, how is expectations, did GM say what its annual sales should be? 4.)Malibu looks like its kicking butt, same with the G8 bucking the trend, hopefully by a lot. 5.)Is the CTS still selling well or kinda died off? did we ever get a wagon CTS? 6.)Enclave is doing well? 7.)Whens the new Lacross due? 8.)if hummer sticks around is the H4 near production? 9.)Chevy volt still looking for production at $35k? is lutz going to work until it sees production or he will retire early? 10.)New Impala coming? 11.)how are advertising programs going? effective? 12.)is saab still part of GM? 13.)did GM sell portion of opel? i cant think of anything else, but if you can think of any big things that happened in the last year, trying to catch up
April 1, 200916 yr CTS-V - 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque from 6.2 litres, 24mpg highway, 6-speed manual or automatic, faster around the ring than the M3, M5, M6, Z8, and R8.
April 1, 200916 yr If that's the case, try the Challenger. It's tuned differently than it's LX mates. You know me, I have to throw suggestions for Chrysler products in where applicable.
April 1, 200916 yr Ah, see my criteria includes a transmission that doesn't crap the bed after 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
April 1, 200916 yr Ah, see my criteria includes a transmission that doesn't crap the bed after 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Mine outlasted the 195.000 engine, so there.
April 1, 200916 yr Mine outlasted the 195.000 engine, so there. How many miles did the car have on it when you bought it?
April 1, 200916 yr How many miles did the car have on it when you bought it? 173k However it spent it's life being serviced at a Chrysler dealership, and they said no major engine work or transmission work was done. Also there's that 215,000 Shadow, and we;eve had that since it was blow 100k However, if you buy a 90's minivan you will need like 5 new transmissions every 6 miles.
April 1, 200916 yr What if the transmission replacement costs at the dealer were too high for the previous owner, you could be on your 4th or 5th transmission by now and not even know it.
April 2, 200916 yr Welcome back, hope things settle down nicely for you, and I'm sure you'll make the right car choice (in the end, we tend to sign on the correct dotted line...that is, if we have a backbone...referring to myself, who analyzes things backwards and forwards).
