My PS2 hates hockey....

Featured Replies

I wonder what's up with that?

I've been on a hockey kick lately, so I decided to pick up NHL 09. (for ps2)

I've played quite a bit of NHL 07, so I knew what to expect.

09 was a disaster, loading for anything took forever....so I gave up and got NHL 08.

08 is close to 07, so figured it should work fine. It works much better, but it freezes up during games ( I have yet to finish one)

I know I had issues with the slim, and I even blew the dust out.

It plays WWE wrestling, Nascar, and kingdom of hearts fine. I haven't tried 07 yet, but I will.

Should I expect these games to freeze up?

That sux. Sorry I do not have any advice.

Hockey is the only sport I obsess over. :)

Thanks...I'm pulling the slim tonight and trying the old one...Strange part is that everyone I know is unloading the newer slims for the older PS2s...

We have a slim and have never had a problem with it. Only disadvantage with it is if you wanted to play FFXI on it, because you need the HD which only fits the old PS2. However PC > PS2 for FFXI.

On another note, I really want to bust out the old Dreamcast and Play Sonic Adventure.

Oh..

Turns out the old one is useless (can't shake the disk read error, even after taking it apart and cleaning it)

And, I think something is going in the slim.
