I went to my local Walgreens today to pick up my prescription for the antibiotic Azithromycin, I have an ear infection from swimming in my heated pool ...

I was shocked to see that this antibiotic is now manufactured by Wockhardt Limited in Mumbai, India.

God how I long for the German health industry ...

At least you get to see where it is made. I hate American Drug companies, or what is left of them. The are all crooked bastards!

It's funny how I read about "health supplements" having dirt and other stuff in them because they are not regulated by the FDA, but who is to say that the FDA is even looking at stuff coming from India or God knows where else.

There is nothing wrong with Eli Lilly & Co.

And yet they ban generic drugs from Canada... :stupid:

True dat

And yet they ban generic drugs from Canada... :stupid:

Yet lately some of the common generic drugs sold by Wal-Mart, et al. are in fact gereric drugs from Canada - they just have a company in the US stuff them into those bubble/foil packs and then say they are "Made in Canada- Packaged in USA" :stupid:

Generics are made all over the world. You could go to CVS or Target and they probably have a version made in the USA, Canada or Israel. Shop around if it concerns you.

Technically, Azithromycin is not limited to just one manufacturer. It's generic made available by many. :P

Self sufficiency = hopeless poverty. If Indian drugs are cheaper, bring 'em on.
