Taking the Buick = Opel all the way: would a Buick roadster (a new Reatta) make sense to anyone?

No.

Maybe - to me there is a big question involved. What sales can they expect from Chevy vs Buick, and what does that volume do to profitability? For example, let's say they would sell 80k Chevy units, or 20k Buick units. If selling 80k units at Chevy would make the platform profitable and therefore it would live longer and/or justify a next generation, then PLEASE GIVE IT TO CHEVY. If, however, the platform is going to lose money at either volume, and it's doomed, then maybe it's best to sell fewer (lose less money), and let the image bump go to Buick, which needs to appeal to people under 60 very badly.
