BMW to produce Z4 coupe

Jens Dralle

MUNICH, Germany -- BMW AG plans a coupe version of its Z4 roadster, according to company sources.

Like its predecessor, the Z3 coupe, the new coupe will be built at BMW's plant in Spartanburg, S.C., where the roadster is produced.

The decision to build the coupe is surprising. The previous model was not considered a success. During a five-year production run that ended in 2002, BMW sold fewer than 18,000 Z3 coupes

They already have the 3-series coupe this is not really breaking new ground.
I don't see the point... the 130i fits the same niche as the old Z3 coupe.

Not really...the 130 is a 5dr 4-seat hatchback, the Z4 coupe will be a 2 seat sports car...different realities.
I always like the Z3/M-coupe and it is a shame it was short lived...I'm glad to hear they are bringing it back in Z4 form...I was anticipating one...
