April 20, 200916 yr The Geely GT Concept stole the show at last year's Beijing Auto Show, mostly because it stood out as one of the few Chinese designs that wasn't a Xerox copy of something sold elsewhere in the world. Geely designers walked out on a limb with their pens and created a truly unique shape with interesting details, and regardless what you think of the result, at the very least it drew praise for being an original Chinese design. As we reported earlier, Geely has brought the GT Concept back for this year's Shanghai Auto Show, this time with a complete working interior and butterfly doors (the original was just a shell). This suggests that the car is slowly marching towards production as the Chinese automaker works out engineering issues and again judges the reaction it receives at this year's show. Should the GT reach Chinese showrooms, it will likely be called the Tiger (its current name actually stands for "Geely Tiger"). The question now is whether or not Geely will give its unique coupe some claws. Autoblog
April 20, 200916 yr Author For comparison: The original was actually pretty cool besides the overdone front end. It was low slung and had nice proportions. This looks like squished and made taller, with very bad results. Also that interior bares more than a passing remembrance of the CTS' with a Commodore's steering wheel stuck in.
April 20, 200916 yr That is a beautiful car and very Original compared to what all the other Asian automakers have done. Hope they produce it and ship it state side. Edited April 20, 200916 yr by dfelt
April 20, 200916 yr There are some minor cues that make me think of other vehicles, but as a whole it does seem pretty original. It's very over-the-top styling, and I think it's decent, if a bit cartoonish.
April 20, 200916 yr Why are they using a Cadillac badge? Is Cadillac going to be marketing this in China? ;-]
April 21, 200916 yr Front end styling: definite YIKES! There's distinctive and then there's blatant hideousness; this car's front end design definitely leans toward the latter. Rest of the car: not so bad, but not as nice as the previous concept (like Dodgefan pointed out).
May 4, 200916 yr I hadn't seen this yet, but it is HORRIBLE. This would hands down be the ugliest car on the roads here in the States. Aztek ain't got nothing on it. God, it's like a badly drawn Korean car mixed with Batman.
