Leaving for München, Deutschland this weekend

Featured Replies

I fly back to Germany this weekend to start my new job @ BMW ... I look forward to starting a new automotive chapter in my life ... I won't be around as much as I was in the past, to some I'm sure that is good news ... Just remember I was only a messenger ...

I will miss the good folks @ GM, the bad ones, not so much ... 20 years is a long time at one company these days, but looking back on my career at GM, I had a blast and wouldn't trade my memories for anything ...

I will keep my eye on GM, I worry for it's future. I will pop in from time to time on C&G, but will rarely post anymore ... To those of you going to BMW because of Pontiac's shutdown, I'll see you on the BMW forums, however I will stick mainly to the German language BMW forums and of course Autoblog ...

End of Message ...

My request for you to "work your magic" on the X6 still stands. :smilewide:

Enjoy though.

Errr..... Bangle doesn't work there anymore :smilewide:

Good luck over at BMW. I certainly don't blame you for making the move. Unfortunately, I'm a cheap-ass so you won't see me buying BMW, not now, and not ever. Great cars, but just not for me.

That's wonderful news!

I hadn't heard that.

It was announced in Feb 2009. From what I read, he left to start his own design studio, something not car-related. Clicky.

Good luck! I look forward to any future posts you make here. :)

Have fun, PCS.

P-C-S. Good luck with your work at BMW. Keep us posted about the development of my second favorite brand.

I hope in the near future you get transferred here and be here.

Works for me, his "talents" would be better used in the realms of useless fashion.<br>

I'm still uncertain about his legacy. He certainly

designed a few awkward &/or uhhhh-gleee BMWs

but then again some of them have grown on me.

I know he quit BMW, but isn't he now consulting, or he

has his own design house or something...

And wasn't Bangle from the USA? Midwest IIRC?

I know what you mean. AFAIK that weird-ass 7-Series did set sales records... the man took a few gambles, but they didn't end up being bad for BMW. I think he might be remembered for good reasons rather than bad.

The last-gen 7 had the suspect styling and the first generation of iDrive working against it.

I think the mass of people spending beyond their means had a lot to do with the 7 selling the way it did.

Didn't Bangle used to work at Pontiac?

If Wikipedia is accurate (big "if"), he worked at Opel and Fiat before BMW.

How the hell do you say Good Luck in Deutsch? Sorry, no German flag icon on the site. Yeah, I have a gnawing feeling in my stomach about GM as well.

Will you like living over there? I guess you probably identify as more European than you do American. I wish you the best. I'm sure you'll always have one foot in the U.S.
