May 29, 200916 yr Inspired by Camino's posting tonight, I think we can have a CL thread, like car spotting, but cool stuff on CL in your neck of the woods. 1951 Ford pickup '72 Cutlass '78 Cutlass Supreme Nova from hell '79 LeSabre '64 Corvair *WANT* '87 Blazer '76 Nova Kinda '71 Monte Carlo '47 Caddy limo '30 Model A Roadster '78 Nova '69 LTD Edited May 29, 200916 yr by Satty
May 29, 200916 yr Author '58 Volvo Thats just cool '68 Nova '68 AMC '81 El Camino That has to be a dog with the 2.8
May 29, 200916 yr That '78 Cutlass looks totally unassuming until you open the hood. My kinda sleeper.
May 29, 200916 yr Author Ugh. That's one 'Camino I've no interest in. Primer gray with a small V6 and you're not interested? Color me shocked.
May 29, 200916 yr That's gotta be a misprint on the engine size in the '81 El Camino... they never put the little 2.8 in those. Maybe he meant 3.8?
May 29, 200916 yr Primer gray with a small V6 and you're not interested? Color me shocked. On the other hand, if I had a spare GN drivetrain hanging around...
May 29, 200916 yr I'd rock the '71 Monte, not a bad price on a sweet car, and that 350 would become a 454 or 502 real fast.
May 29, 200916 yr Ugh. That's one 'Camino I've no interest in. GMPPD - 6.2 LS3, Tremec 6-speed, and throw the 2.8 to the dogs and we have a deal.
May 29, 200916 yr Author '89 Caprice Nothing I see that sparks my interest. How about an '88 Lebaron vert Its been on there for months or a '92 Grand Marquis But seriously, the only decent Mopar on CL is this '79 Volare
May 29, 200916 yr Author Although there is this '63 Newport that many people would probably enjoy And a '70 Chevelle SS 454 clone that looks awesome One last great GM car Edited May 29, 200916 yr by Satty
May 29, 200916 yr The Newport is quite nice. As far as GM goes, off teh top of my head I like the `71 era Sedan Deville and the early to mid 70's Electras like this one:
May 29, 200916 yr Although there is this '63 Newport that many people would probably enjoy And a '70 Chevelle SS 454 clone that looks awesome One last great GM car That 70 Chevelle is really nice but seems priced high for a clone. If it was a GTO I would like it even more.
May 29, 200916 yr And a '70 Chevelle SS 454 clone that looks awesome Meh. Not even a good clone - misses a ton of details. Fun Chevelle, but not really a clone. Not that that's a bad thing, I'd actually rather have a cool, hotted-up Chevelle than a true clone anyway.
May 29, 200916 yr 1972 Chevelle Same goes for this one. It makes me want to build a really nasty Chevelle Malibu for half the price. I hate clones.
May 29, 200916 yr The Newport is quite nice. As far as GM goes, off teh top of my head I like the `71 era Sedan Deville and the early to mid 70's Electras like this one: Mob car.
May 29, 200916 yr I'd rock the '71 Monte, not a bad price on a sweet car, and that 350 would become a 454 or 502 real fast. I am right there with you...although I would keep the 350. Perfect car for a warm summer evening. God, I miss my Chevelle. Chris
May 29, 200916 yr the 48 Chev and the 51 Ford are sweet also. I love old pikc-em-ups... Love the Patina on that Ford. I'd just get the flathead going and drive that puppy. Chris
June 3, 200916 yr Shoot, I thought you guys had a relatively car-friendly climate in MN. That old Dodge is typical of the Northeast, body-wise. Do you use cinders or salt for snow removal?
June 3, 200916 yr Up north like that winters are terrible on cars. I grew up in Wisconsin and remember the snow turning pink under cars when a door was slammed hard. Granted, that was in the late 1960's, early 1970's, but stilll... Chris
June 4, 200916 yr Here's a few local ones. 60 Chevy Brookwood 2dr wagon '75 Chevy Impala 2dr ht (I think I've seen this car in traffic) '63 Chevy Impala 4dr ht '72 Pontiac GTO rollin' on 24s, YO! '91 Buick Roadmaster wagon (interesting paint & wheels)
June 4, 200916 yr ummm....meyrs manx please. And someone please save that poor GTO from donkdom. Chris
June 13, 200916 yr Actually I'd love a wagon of that era for a family weekend car. Saw a 60 Chevy wagon for sale awhile back... Chris
June 13, 200916 yr Author 1958 Edsel wagons, $500 each: http://stcloud.craigslist.org/cto/1218412289.html Screw the Edsels, I want that Buick.
