The inappropriately named Plymouth Duster!

Auggh... back in the day, I had a brown Members Only jacket, wore it when rollin' in my 5.0.

When I was in jr high ('82-84) and high school ('84-88) they were very popular...parachute pants were popular then also. And Izod shirts w/ the little alligator.

Members Only jackets are making a big comeback around LA this year; it's nuts.

Cubical: Lacoste is the alligator, IZOD has the stylized Z I think.

IIRC, in the '80s, it was IZOD Lacoste...one and the same..

I had a two door Dodge Omni like that. Brings back memories..thanks!

And they did build a "Duster" in that bodystyle.

Chris

Way too funny. I had 5 differant Members only jackets so I could wear a differant one ever day in Highschool. :P Great times. :D

My brother's very first car was a Dodge Detomaso model which was a sister to the Duster, or rather, the Turismo. We did some body and paint work, cleaned up the interior and added some go-fast-but-don't-blow-up goodies.

It wasn't too bad but for the gear shifter which was so rubbery, you literally never knew if you were going into second, or fourth. It looked cool, for its day, but it was a piece-o-crap.

You're right. I forgot Lacoste didn't have exclusive US distribution back then. I stand corrected.

I'm glad the 80's are past us. *shudder*

Dude, they aren't. Not at all. Shoulder pads are coming back for fall, say fashionistas. LA Times did an article about that a couple months ago, with Marc Jacobs debuting his "punk prom girl" look:

Personally, I can't wait. I love the 80s; I'm just waiting for big hair to come back.

Anyway, yes darn it, I had a black Members Only jacket. Looking back on it, it was a pretty schizo thing for a farm boy to have one.

hehe i remember there was a scene in the movie shallow hal where the dude from seinfeld had one on and the chick was like wow, what are you the last member?

I'm not a fan of the 80's, especially when it comes to fashion. :P

I loved the 80's. I had my members jacket on, I drove my 76 Series 5 Chevy Luv truck I had totally restored and cruzed the strip hanging with friends. :D

I do have big hair which generally mirrors the late-80's/early 90's hair metaller style, and while I dig the music from the 80's I'm not sure I can really get into much else from that era.

Do we really want this back? :P

I remember those Chic Jeans, How about the Stardust Jeans, those were Really big back then. :P

Don't recall Stardust...I do remember Guess? and Jordasche (sp?) being popular when I was in high school...

omg, keep dreaming buddy. 80s girls are hot, that's all I'm gonna say.

A page and a half of discussions of Members Only jackets (yes, I had one) and not one mention of the MINUTE AND A HALF commercial for the PLYMOUTH DUSTER?!?!?!?

I like the pictures in the background of the earlier versions of the Plymouth Horizon TC3 with its dual headlight front fascia instead of the Duster's quad headlight setup.

And that Dodge Omni 024 deTomaso edition was the stuff back in the day (and predated this car by five years).

Not much to say about those little sh*tboxes. Boring FWD meh.

Here's another great 80s commercial.

IBM has nothing on Steve Ballmer when it comes to computer commercials.

Good times back then. I had the black Members Only jacket and the IBM PC with the 8088 processor running the blazing 4.7 Mhz. I still like the '80s music.
