June 1, 200916 yr I heard from someone today that the Chrysler dealers that are being shut down have to have their inventory gone by June 9th, and thus are offering 30-40% off MSRP on cars and 40-50% off MSRP on trucks and SUVs. Has anyone else heard this or have the ability to confirm it? Not that I'm going to be buying anything anyways most likely, but I do know a couple people possibly looking for a new car.
June 1, 200916 yr Here's an interesting story, which suggests that won't be the case: 'Vulture' shoppers circle Chrysler dealers -- http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-chry...0,2482457.story
June 3, 200916 yr I just read a story today on CNN that featured a dealership that was offering 40% on some of their vehicles. They said after June 9th whatever vehicles are left, they can no longer sell them and that Chrysler doesn't have to take them back. Story: http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/06/02/dealershi...sing/index.html
June 4, 200916 yr I heard from someone today that the Chrysler dealers that are being shut down have to have their inventory gone by June 9th, and thus are offering 30-40% off MSRP on cars and 40-50% off MSRP on trucks and SUVs. Has anyone else heard this or have the ability to confirm it? Not that I'm going to be buying anything anyways most likely, but I do know a couple people possibly looking for a new car. My friend bought a torred Challenger R/T, stickered at $34,950, for $22,550 last week from one of the Cincinatti dealers going away. He made the offer the day before, they said no way, but they called him the next morning, and told him the deal was on if he came in before noon, and the owner "found his mind". An hour later, he was driving it off the lot. He had nearly bought an almost identical car a few months ago for $30,000, and was sure glad he didn't! He got a call from another dealer a day later, asking him if he was interested in a black one that went for $1000 more for about 13K off the sticker, and he told them he had already bought the other one. They tried to get him to come back and "talk", so they must have been pretty desperate.
