...has now had its lower left fascia mangled by a raccoon strike at 70mph by the people who got it after I did.

I know how he feels...the exact same thing happened to me with an R32 last year. Damn near happened with the CC. Apparently I have a thing with VW's and raccoons.

Raccoons released by a Super Duty driving Ford engineer no doubt.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the whole chrome mirror thing?

All the "S" models have that. I was so-so on it before I actually put eyes on it. Once I saw it in person, it's actually a pretty good look.

I've only seen them on an S8 and I found it slightly gaudy.

So does Audi just repair the damage and hand it back out for more press tests?

Basically. They budget for this kind of thing and have excellent insurance.

Another question. What the hell are they feeding raccoons in your neck of the woods. I dont think I've ever seen one much larger than an average house cat, and I've never seen significant damage from a car hitting a cat.

When I was in high school, a friends parents had one of those rear wheel drive V-8 Cutlasses. We hit a coon big enough to damage THAT car. They can get...quite large, thank you.

Before I put my cat in the house, I used to put food out for her on my deck out back, off the second floor. One evening after dark I heard a rustling out there. It didn't sound like my little cat, and I thought it was one of the rogue Toms in the 'hood stealing her food. I turned on the light, preparing to chase it, and holy $h! it was a huge ass raccoon. Turning the light on, and then standing watching it up close through the sliding door didn't phase it one bit, I don't think it even knew I was there, one foot away. I let it eat, but then I brought the dish in and washed it thoroughly.

Last night I had a dream that I saw a raccoon that stood six feet tall.

Thanks, Chris, for reminding me of that dream with this post. :fryingpan:

I think it's supposed to be brushed aluminum. I liked them on the old S4 with matching window trim.

Those raccoons are pesky. Hitting one with the Millenia resulted in a cracked bumper and smashed foglight.

I think it is, as well.

:mind-blowing:

Back in High School in PA we had some kids hurt/killed when the car they were in struck a coon and it actually caused the car to roll over and it struck a tree off the road upside down. It was a rather large raccoon - it also died. So yeah, unchecked, they can get pretty damned big.

That TT-S is a great looking car. Those LED running lamps are so hot-sexy! Love the new Audi's.
