66 Stang is an Idiot, or Moron perhaps

Featured Replies

Was working on something (don't worry gm4life, it was domestic and not imported) with a friend and was putting one last wire tie on to finish up.

My foot slipped on an oily spot on the concrete and when I fell forward my left hand got jammed between the rotating fanblade (metal) and the fan shrowd. It was a quick second before I could get it free.

A very good doctor put eveything back together...but OUCH! Thankfully, amazingly, no broken bones or badly damaged tendons, but lots and lots of stitches.

It's amazing how much you can bleed from your hands if you cut a few arteries. Thanks much to my friends for getting me to the Emergency Room right away, and thanks to the good folks at Adena Medical for getting me right in and getting the bleeding stoped.

I've always wondered, everytime I've seen a cylcist or motorcyclist riding without gloves how much blood you could loose from an injured hand. Well, I guess now I know.

Been working on mechanical things for abot 35 years and this is the first time I've hurt myself like that, so I don't feel too stupid.

But...be careful working on your project cars, everyone...

Ouch, that sounded like you picked a fight with the vehicle and lost. Glad you're ok.

Oh my God, I'm glad to hear you're okay! This is partly the reason I stick to driving cars, not fixin' 'em ;)

ouch! gave some blood for the greater good!

heal up, take care of yourself in the meantime. glad you came out of it to the extent and not something worse.

Well I hope everything's healed up quickly, moron. That had to hurt like the dickens.:o

yup see stuff like that a lot. we had 3 people come in on a single day with missing or lacerated digits from table saws. just the other day we had a guy come in that mashed his finger in between his tractor and a plow he was hooking up. the most interesting story is the guy who nail-gunned his hand to the floor. they had to hammer it back out to get him to the hospital. the worst, a lady that got her hand pulled into a meat grinder. wow.

hope you heal up fast, glad to hear it only needed stitches. fan blades have been known to be hungrier than that.

Glad to hear you're okay.

This is why I invest in non-slip boots. I've always had a rather unfounded fear of slipping in some fluid and hitting my head or breaking a bone on the floor.

Sorry to see anyone in pain. Normally those types of things happen to me ... It's always comforting to know that you can be put back together, most times... Here's a blast from the past, I feel your pain ...

It did smart at the time, and I did have other issues because so much fat from the bone marrow got into my blood stream ... But time and good drugs heal all wounds ... Besides it's fun to make the metal detectors go off all over the world's airports when I travel now ... The Borg don't have anything on me when it comes to implants ... :smilewide:
