I apologize for inserting this out of chronological order, harley, but it is such a beautiful shot of a '64 I could not pass it up:

Balthazar, you can insert that anytime...as I scrolled down, my heart skipped a beat slightly, so fantastically stunning,...almost at a loss of words...it's couldn't possibly have been designed and built by mere human beings. Beautiful.

*Drools* I love that car.. and that picture B)
GM1- I know you said "similar", just wanted to point out that Chevy, Pontiac, Olds & Buick shared the majority of their palettes, but Cadillac used their own exclusive colors. They also offered a notably greater quantity.
Sorry to be a wet blanket but I'm not a bigg fan of 1963 & 1964 Cadillacs. To be blunt they cut their fins down to the point of it being like a castration. Like a canry with it's wings clipped. :( I would have either done somthing different wiht the fins but kept them big OR I would have pulled a Mopar and just eliminated them altogeather.

Harley,
In that ad from '63, the 5th Caddy down on the left has a very similar color to that on my Olds. I'd post a pic, but that would be redundant, and I wouldn't want to hijack this awesome thread. Keep these beautiful Eldos coming! :)

I don't want to seem "cute" but that looks like one of the Mary Kay pink specials!
Do you all remember when she used to give a pink car for hitting a sales goal?
They started with Cadillacs, and then moved down scale as the winners became more numerous.

I really have a new appreciation of the '73 Eldorado...it's a gorgeous car. I don't see many around and almost forgot how nice it was.

^ I love those Eldorados you have there Harley, I even like the last generation. It's a car that Cadillac should be more proud of!

I loved the last generation Eldorado...and you are right Cremazie, GM can be proud of the Eldorado and it's wonderful heritage. I will celebrate in the streets if they bring it back. Cadillac needs a luxury 2-door coupe called Eldorado again.

Include me int he group that LOVES the last gen. I've seen one with the aftermarket chop job (vert) and it was beautiful, it almost seemed like the car was meant to be a convertible. Bitch about FWD, relatively compact dimensions inside and out all you want, but that is a design that will truly stand the test of time. Oh, and it has 300hp from the damn near perfect Northstar engine. Cant go wrong with that.

I've got a 4dr myself. :AH-HA_wink:

Although we may be selling the STS soon... well trading it in is more accurate. If we had the money Marcia woud already be driving a SRT8 Charger in black, we're both absolutely Smitten by that car.

I do seriously believe that they should build a new Eldorado. Hopefully they will provide us with a car like that in the near future, hopefully not named the ETS. (edmonton transit service)

The coupes of this era weren't my favorite...I still liked the droptops. The coupe got a bit baroque.

1977 Eldorado...it looks pretty clean except for some pieces missing on the fenders

Thanks you guys for those incredible pics of Eldos. I've been in love with those cars ever since I can remember.....much more than I thought I was.

The gargantuan Eldorados of the '70's look like something is missing unless the longhorns are mounted in the front.

My favorite Eldorados are the '79 to '85. Not too big and not too small. This '85 Biarritz supposedly has only 12K miles and is for sale for $13,500:

Ah, '85: the last of the goodlooking Eldos until '92. I love the '79-'85 E-bodies. My favourites are the Riviera S - and T-Types, and the Eldorado Touring Coupe.

The 79-85 are some of my favorite Eldos as well....but this will always be the quintessential Eldorado:

The '67-70 are my favorites, esp. the '67. crisp and clean...massive and sleek. My favorite GM era of styling and design has be the early '60s to the early '70s..so many beautiful cars during that era--the Riviera, Eldorado, Toronado, and many, many more...

Looking at these pictures makes me wish I was older, just so I could remember when these cars were new! Thanks again Harley!
Great thread guys....love that '67 in black...I also love the last gen Eldo's too
