'84 Seville

I know someone on here likes these things. This one is a real cream puff:

clicky

I'm just afraid of the 4100. I'd be more comfortable with the 350 Diesel...as hard as that is to believe.

When you say showroom condition and the car has the HT4100 in it, it leaks oil.

I remember when my mom got an 85 Seville and all we heard were the stories about the 4.1 and how they were being constantly replaced by the dealer because they were faulty. Her's lasted 135,000 miles before the valves started to tap.

My father-in-law still drives my old one around town. This one looks to be in far better shape, though.

The 4500 and 4900 versions of the engine were fixed, IIRC. We had a lot of high-mileage Cadillacs with those engines come in for service when I worked in MD. They developed a condition called "mallet knock" with those high miles, but they kept on chugging along. I saw a circa '87 all-white Coupe DeVille the other day, still cruising as majestically as she could, considering her relatively compact dimensions v. the older cars.
