What do these names have in common, Nova, Panther, Wildcat, Chapparal, G-Mini, GeMini and Gemini?

they were all on the drawing board for the camaro's name plate...

the reason they had the last 3 were because GM thought they might want the vehicle to have GM in the name... unfortunatly if the vehicle was a flop they didnt want it to say GM... so they knocked those ideas...

In the end the car was called Camaro, a french phrase that no one knew what it ment...

Camaro actually is derived from the French word "camarade" which means "close friend".

as i said in the first thread...

According to Chevrolet, the word Camaro came from an "obscure 1935 French-to-English dictionary," and that it's meaning is "comrade, pal, or chum."
