Man is it great to take a shower indoors. Yes, I love just about everything about tent camping (except for RAIN, which mercifully did not mar this weekend), but the comforts of home cannot be beat. I think I'm "camped out" for a while... unless Labor Day weekend has an impeccable weather forecast. For sure, after that, my season is over (although camp stays open through Halloween).

So, what did I miss?

Lately, I've been working long and hard in the yard... I'm so filthy and sweaty, I rigged up a shower in the backyard (its a big yard)... wow, that's refreshing... so much better than a shower in a hot, stuffy house.

Camp was having a bit of trouble with their hot water (something about a pilot light going out) on Saturday, and some of the guys were complaining. At one of the comfort stations a dude was washing dishes and I was toweling off after a (warm) shower. He said, in response to the hot water complaints, "camping? this ain't camping. Camping is when you don't bathe for 4 days and if you need to take a $h!, you go around the corner and dig a hole." I was keeping my ears peeled for the sound of banjos.
