When I stumbled across this concept a few days ago I figured it had to have been something a bit older due to its overall blocky design and shape. But when GM announced the debuts for L.A. just yesterday I knew that Gizmag had done wrong. Take a look at the pictures below of this new PAD along with some information below courtest of Gizmag.

The GMC PAD is an urban loft with mobility, a concept for living in the ever-changing cultural landscape of Southern California or, quite simply, a modern alternative for those priced out of Southern California’s escalating housing market. It’s a home ownership concept that enables cultural & geographic freedom for the modern city dweller. It’s a concept that represents a reasoned solution to the problems of urban sprawl, development, and it’s damaging effects on the region’s environment.

Now if only GM made more of it's vehicles as unique as this. Not ugly..but unique.
This concept is only on paper and is ONLY created for the LA Show's design challenge. Every year, to have LA stand out, they challenge designers to come up with a "way-out-there" design that would only be on paper. This year the concept should encompass the LA Adventure.

Nice to know GM can still... you know... design. Looking at their current products you'd think they were drawn out by engineers.
Wow... I just had a vision of the future of trailer parks LMAO Pretty wild concept though! Didn't GMC used to make RV's?

Maybe this is the spiritual successor to the futuristic GMC Motor Home that was produced in the '70s. That's what I thought of when I saw it.
Ha! That's neat. It is like the old GMC Motorhomes from the '70s. Those had what? 500 cu.-in. V8s? That concept is massive as hell, too. Like father, like son, I guess.
My first thought is Recreational Vehicle...RV. Hmmm, never thought of buying an RV as an alternative to buying a house. Cheaper, no tax deductions, no appreciation of value...I guess if you're a trendy, hip, 20-something in Southern Cali you don't care about those things. Maybe it's the ultimate hippie VW van???
The other concepts at that link are equally interesting.

Including that Maybach concept. What the hell is that?

lol it looks like it's out of star trek

Or out of an anime title like Ghost in the Shell. I like it. :)

Imagine having that as a tow vehicle to the race track.

not a bad anime movie at all.

as a tow vehicle you can put spare parts, or spare car in the truck along side a good macsimizer tool box.
