Vintage Gas Stations

Featured Replies

I love vintage garage and dealership photos, I don't know why exactly, just do. The smell of gas and oil and tires...love it. Do any of you have old GM dealership photos to share?

Maybe all 3 of us were brothers in a former life...?

I love these types of photos, too.

But, I tell ya what ... I know of 2 people that have a "mini collection" of sorts.

One of them is a former co-worker of my Dad's from Unocal (formerly Union 76). We went to see him near here (Sycamore IL) about a year ago or so. Originally, we were told that he wanted to show us his model train layout. He did. But, then he also showed us his collections ... a TON of model cars along with old Union 76 and Unocal signs, among other memorabilia. It was awesome.

The second is the father of one of my friends in Indiana. When I visited him in August, he took me for a drive, stopping at his Dad's place. He took me out to the garage where several older cars were, along with a bunch of gasoline memorabilia, including a couple pumps and a vending machine. It, too, was quite awesome!
