I was passed the photo without any other details ... but my source is attempting to get the background story.

well I'm on the fence as to weather the Corvette or the pickup (Sierra?) were the culprit. Did the Vette plow underneath the GMC? Did the GMC crah inot/over the Vette? Either way it's a damn shame. :(

Looking at the photo, my best guess is that the truck on top (sure does look like a Sierra with those 6 bolt wheeks) was originally parked next to the F-100 before the Z06 attempted to drive under it.

It was clearly the vette at fault (excuse me...vette driver :rolleyes: )...Notice, no tire marks on the grass...

OUCH....that "untintended" accleration can be a real problem.

Well at least it was a GM product that ended up on top of the Vette. Now they can say hey GM's 4-Wheel drive is so good they can run over cars like Bigfoot the Monster Truck!!! :P

That appears to be a Silverado, not a Sierra. You can see the taillight sitting on the bumper and its red, the post-facelift "angry" Silverado is the only GMT-800 pickup with all-red taillights, all Sierras and pre-facelift Silverado have red/amber/white taillights.

At least they took out a Ford in the process. I believe that is a F150, too, not an F100.

Plus the rims and bodyside moulding on that poor truck are specific to the Chevy Silverado line.

I believe what we are seeing is development on the newest high-performance El Camino. Just a guess... :P

after further inspection... i'm still unsure of how that happened.... okay... my guess, altho seeming physically improbable... you're saying the truck was parked(backward)... and the vette(in a parking lot, again no damaged grass), got up enough speed to establish a nose dive underneath the silverado, in effort to force the truck to lift up... i dont quite know the physics of that... but i'm leaning toward that is very unlikely... however, if that were the case, the LS7 is probably fine... but i really dont believe the angle between the tire, and the hood of the corvette offer it the ablity to slide under it... and the frame rails of the silverado are too low, it would just stop the car cold, and slide the car into the f-series... well considering that scenario... the silverado will slide, then get wedged... and slightly tipped.. and... haha! that car had to be hauling ass! to get the truck to slide

Update..guy had just had it serviced at Reliable. He took off down the access road and lost control. The two trucks were parked in a parking lot adjacent to the road and he "slid" under neath the first one. The car is at Reliable.

Maybe this is a sign that cars today are becomng too powerful for even the most seasoned drivers and need to be taken down a notch..... Yeah Right! :lol: But seriously, what it's probably going to come down to, much to our chagrin, is that the various licensing bodies will start requiring specific licenses to drive high performance vehicles. I know it's already in place that if a car is over ~512hp in my province, the insurance rate literally triples. What's next, eh?

wait wait... the car was just serviced and he lost control... how fast was he going? or was something not fixed properly i.e. brakes?

as someone who has seen alot of accidents (ie: tow truck driver on the Jersey turnpike), i'd say he tried flying down the access road, hit 3rd (had to be going at least 80) and lost the back end. from the looks of the pics, the Silverado and Ford had a parking spot between them from the fluids on the ground. that guy was FLYING when he hit!!! no matter how that happened, OUCH! reminds me of a Vette at E-town making a pass on a windy day. as soon as he got past the stands, the car caught a nasty wind and went over on it's roof.

As a person that lives about 3 miles from that spot and uses it almost daily I remember that we had an ice storm just on the 8th. Many places that were shaded and did not get any sunlight remained covered with ice. If you look to the far right of the picture, that looks like that may have been ice. The car was headed North bound on the service road, it is a common place to really get up to speed as you are approaching an entrance ramp to the freeway in the background of the second picture. There was also a lot of sand left from the trucks the night before, especially in the intersections. I just got my car back, either I truned off the TC or they did during service. Open road ahead, let's go lol.
