Xanga "Worm"

Featured Replies

Apparently there was a worm spreading on Xanga. It uses a JavaScript hole in IE to propagate. Firefox is safe though.
do you know that if you open it in IE if it will carry over to opening in firefox? i kinda looked before i saw this.............lol
Well, thanks for the heads up anyway. :)
I use both but haven't heard of or had any problems. Does anyone know if having Norton's Internet Security, anti-virus and a firewall help?

That's because it has already spreaded when you opened it with IE. It does not use IE to propagate, but with others who look at your blog with the offending post... with IE of course.
Are you talking about the "Samy is my hero" worm that hit Myspace a couple months ago? It's been taken care of and vulnerabilities in the code have been removed...it's not like it was anything harmful either, it was just this guy that made some code so that he would automatically be added to someone's friend list and eventually had over 1 million friends. His account was deleted and the code was changed to avoid future problems.
no its different cuz i got hit by it at school then i opened this and saw the thread i didnt leave it opened for long enough to read the banner but it was a page of stuff just dont open it in ie

No, this time is "exodus owns you".
I finally gave in and got Firefox. I don't know why it took me so long to download it...it was actually pretty painless and it seems to be a lot better than IE.
