The Chinese Brilliance Zhonghua. This car looks very mainstream. It is being readied for introduction into European markets. Could it be a contender if and when it reaches here?

It is generic and that could be the danger. Chinese vehicles are no longer weird. I find the front has a bit of Lancia in it. I hear it is 4 cyl and bigger than an E-Class Mercedes and costs less than the big Hyundai. Not sure if its fwd or rwd.

Why is it starting to remind me of an Altima/Saab with a Lancia grille? Give it bigger rims and an engine that can get out of its own way, and I don't see why it couldn't compete.... And oh yeah...its logo reminds me of the Greatest American Hero. Plus its interior sheen seems to be one out to aim squarely at Buick customers (in the Chinese market, that is).

Could be competitive, very generic, not thoroughly modern, even below the newest offerings from Koreans for design modernity. The interior looks right out of a Hyundai. Looks high quality, definitely a danger.

The interior's not that great either. Look at the panel gaps. They're worse than my 1994 Lumina.

It has it's flaws, but the point is, don't underestimate them. Remember Hyundai in it's early days? I think cars like this from the Chinese could potentially be very successful in the future. The Chinese have come a long ways in a very short period of time. If this car and others like it are priced really low, it will find many buyers.

The interior and exterior look dated, like this car was first made in the 90's. However, the tailights look like they came from the new 3 series and Jetta. Edit: And WTF kind of car company name is "Brilliance?" If it ever ends up in the U.S. it would be a laughing stock.

A car company named brilliance falls in line with names like Prince or Saturn.....just give the car brand a name people can pronounce and somewhat respect, since obviously any name in Chinese doesn't pack much tradition, not to mention simply sounds heavy-handed in usage.

Just for the record, this car is produced by Brilliance Auto which in turn is a subsidiary of the China Brilliance Group, a financial and manufacturing company. It's not a name they conjured up just for this car.
