October 18, 200916 yr Enough time has passed, I feel safe in saying this: I always thought the new Ute/G8 ST looked goofy with the short sedan doors. I much prefer my El Camino-type vehicle with longer, coupe doors.
October 18, 200916 yr I sort of agree, but I feel that with the Maloo package it looks great. I think the added mass provided by the bed cover and "cab" extension, combined with big wheels and lowered stance helped.
October 18, 200916 yr To me the "sedan doors" are a detail I could do without, and the slope of the rear pillars is too upright for the look I prefer... BUT I still loved the ST as it was intended to be, this beautiful chop simply outclasses it by an order of magnitude. An El Camino completely worthy of the name.
October 18, 200916 yr Author Frankly, it's in the class of jawdroppers GM has been unveiling lately. It addresses the quarter window area & too-upright C-pillar that never endeared themselves to me in the Holden ute.

October 20, 200916 yr Off topic a little bit...but a bunch of the Vintage Utes are cool. Would be awesome to have a couple of modern utes and a set of vintage utes. Chris
