October 19, 200916 yr My buddy just told me about this one today- says it's written up in Hot Rod. Only pic that turned up for me was this : Aluminum Pontiac 455 power. Lingenfelter does some snotty stuff. Interesting to see if this pans out, and just how far north of $60K it'll turn out to cost. From one incomplete pic, I'm having a hard time getting past the Camaro-ness of it.... Edited October 19, 200916 yr by balthazar
October 19, 200916 yr The rounded front end design doesn't match the sharp creases of the rest of the car. I'll stick with the Camaro.
October 19, 200916 yr The nose is too retro. Can't anyone do this correctly and sell the pieces as a kit? It ain't brain surgery or rocket science ya know.
October 19, 200916 yr In looks, that's about as much Firebird as those Towncars they transform into "S600s" are Mercedes Benz.
October 19, 200916 yr Hur-durr, they should be designing a nose to look like this, hur-durr. Unless the next-gen F6 Camaro uses second-gen design cues, these particular second-gen inspired Firebird concepts will never work. Edited October 19, 200916 yr by whiteknight
October 19, 200916 yr Author I think we just know these cars cars too well- the clash of the 2 different generations is not something we can ignore... but I'm still intriqued enough to see a finished version.
October 19, 200916 yr I just don't see anyone able to make a new TA out of the new Camaro that everyone would agree on. The Firebird fans are a more diverse group than the Camaro people. The Chevy people have their favorites but seem to accept all years. The Firebird TA people are more dedicated to one gen over another and even in some cased models. I know many who hate the TA but love the Formula or the other way around. It was hard enough for Pontiac to make a TA out of a Chevy it is even harder for someone who is not Pontiac to make non Pontiac TA. I wish em all luck but this is not going to be easy for anyone.
