I had to be somewhat cheap when I was in grad school. I think that spilled over into my post school life. I would say conservative. Look for coupons and good sales. Not into toys (electronic type stuff) very much. The reason I am hanging on to my car isn't so much the money, but an upcoming transition that I don't want a new car in the midst of. Where I do spend money is on travel. But that's once a year and then the filler short-haul trips in between.

Cheap. If I want a burger from, say Wendy's, I'll wait 'til I get home and make myself a sandwich. I save all my money for my car.

Cheap. I hold onto clothes & daily drivers longer than average... to the point of pointed criticism by my wife (on the clothes at least). I have been increasing my rate of spending a tiny bit more in recent years... tho you could say my 'progress' has been glacial. That said, I have a sh!tload invested in my Buick to date even tho it's still blown apart.

Yep, just getting paid way too much hourly to do it, since I get tips and comission on top of that.

IDK... it completely depends. I mean... I like to buy the best, brand names, but can't because I usually don't have the money to. When I do... that's what I do. If it's something I want, I will pay what I think it's worth to get it... Which, is probably a bad thing. So... I'm not cheap, but I'm poor. :D

I voted: "Conservative - conscious but still spend for things I like" I'm actally very much a cheap prick about 90% of my spending.... but certain things I'll spend a fortune on and not think twice. Most of my cars that I've owned I buy for less than $1000 and yet i fill them up wiht premium most of the time and use expensive high-milage oils in some cases synthetic. If it's something car related I have a funny way of justyfing the cost. Like my GMP 1:18th scale model of a 1987 Buick GNX taht I payed about $100 for. I'm very cheap about stuff like clothes because I hate to spend money on something that does not bring me any true joy. Shirts, jeans and the like are useless necessities of civilized society and nothing else. Furniture and a lot of other items belong i this category. Beef, Chicken meat, bread, Wine and some other foods however I will spend a lot on. I like to eat well... I mean I eat plenty of junkfood mind you but if I'm going top throw a steak on the grille it's not going to be from the cheapest supermarket around. Natraully when it comes to Sofia cost is not a factor. She's a little spoiled but she's a great kid and deserves it. :)

I'm cheap to the point where I don't even buy my textbooks for school, even though I can easily afford them. :P I just bought myself a PS2 for less than what my calc book last semester would have cost.

I'm middle of the road. I like looking good so I buy clothes more than anything else but I usually look on sale racks and rarely pay top dollar. I think the most I ever spent on a single clothing item was $55 for a Diesel hoody that was 50% off (reg $110). I couldn't pass that deal up. I just found eBay, too, and I've been doing my clothes shopping on there. I've been selling stuff like mad, too, clothes, textbooks, crap I don't need/want. I made about $200 last month, nice supplemental income. Edit: I believe in, "the more you pay, the higher quality it is," which is usually true. Not in all cases but most.

I'm cheaply conservative. I spend almost nothing on clothing, and I hardly ever go out to eat. Last year was a bit of an abberation, as I bought a PDA/GPS, went on vacation, bought a new car (with GMAC's help), bought a complete MCSE traiining kit, and overdid it on Christmas presents. This year I'll bring myself back in line, with a computer upgrade and another vacation being the only planned significant expenses.

I am fairly conservative. My only real things I spend money on are the Equinox lease, the Bonneville maintenence, and I do admit to liking to go out to eat sometimes. And I 99% of the time dont like to go too cheap. Culvers, The Four Star accross the street from me are good. Very seldom do I go as cheap as McDonalds. I eat well, I like meat from the meat market rather than any of the grocery stores. No worry of E Coli with this meat market.

I spend money like it's water. truthfully I'm 21 and I made "about" $35,000 last year working at Sprint 10 out of 12 months of the year, and that's in a "down" year. I pay my bills. My Solstice payment, my car insurance, my two cell phone bills & two other bills that come at about $200 combined and I spend the rest of the money on whatever I fricken want to spend it on which is usually a fancy restaurant, one of 4 casino's or fancying my lady guest for the evening. I don't save money, that's what my IRA & Fidelity Investment is for.

I'm conservative...I have to be. I spend probably $1000 each year of my own money just on supplies for my arch projects. I wear nice clothes, but I only buy new ones two or three times a year so I don't spend money on clothes very often. I also like to buy CDs, but I never pay more than $10 for one anymore...I usually buy them used from thrift shops for $3 a piece. I can't believe that I used to spend $19 per CD back in high school...that was a big waste of money. I'm pretty good about saving money, too. I work long hours in the summer and make quite a bit, but I only spend a fraction of it so that I'll have enough left over for tuition, food expenses, etc. I still drive my beat up Lumina and probably will for another two years. It runs fine....that's all that matters. My sister, on the other hand, burns though money like none other. She'll spend $80 here, $65 there...on all kinds of things that she really doesn't need. She really needs to learn how to save before she goes off to college, or else it's going to be Ramen night -- every night.

I can't remember the last article of clothing I've bought. I wear things until they fall apart, and over 99% of my wardrobe consists of gifts or were bought with gift cards (I've never been a trendy or fashion concious person, so even if I had alot of cash to spend, still wouldn't spend it here). I don't buy DVDs, and all of my CD's are burned copies of other peoples or downloaded (shhh... don't tell the lawyers). Don't have a cell phone (don't have anything that important to talk about) or cable TV (never home to watch it). I do occasionally splurge on a dinner out with my g/f, or for my collections (Johnny Lightnings and license plates mostly) and will be putting out some money to travel out of the country this year. I've always been tight with my money, work two jobs and make alot less than... say, Josh did last year (since he disclosed his earnings) so I have to watch where it goes and make sure I'm not "wasting" it on interest. The upside is that I'm 26 and own my own home (it's not mortgaged), paid for both of my cars with cash, and carry no credit card balances.
