I love automotive museums. Tell everyone about some of your favorites, your experience, the location. I especially like the ones with streetscapes.

The only one I've ever been to was the R.E. Olds Museum in Lansing, which I would recommend for any Oldsmobile enthusiast. They had a pretty good collection of Olds's from all eras. I've also heard good things about the Henry Ford Museum, but I haven't actually been there myself.

I went to NASCAR cafe in TN once. Yep. They were so slow that I asked how the cow was doing in back and how they put it to sleep. They didn't like that too much. :P

I've been to the Peterson Automotive museum. It has lots of cool cars, but it was only a handful of what I was expecting to see.

AAS, I have always wanted to go to that museum. Do they rotate their collection?....so when one goes there, it's usually something different each time?

Well... I... uh.. went to the Harley Davidson museum about a year ago. :P No automotive ones yet... sorry. :( :D

I have been to a great transportation museum in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada. It's unexpected in this smaller city, but it is a worldclass facility. It has a streetscape diarama with the vehicles in place. Even has a 'Drive-in Theatre' with an old movie playing and some cars set up in the scene. It also has a one of a kind Duesenberg Model J. Great automotive gift shop as well. They also have operating vintage carnival rides outside.

This museum's collection is massive, there are warehouses and fields full of machinery. It also has an onsite restoration garage and you can watch from a windowed lounge. They have numerous projects on the go at any given time, spotless shop. The museum also has an extensive library of transportation books only.

It is worth the trip there if ever in the Calgary or Edmonton areas...it's inbetween those two cities. There is also an aviatiion museum on the site.

I'd love to go to the Olds one. I was talking to my boss yesterday and he told me about this Saab Museum in Trollhattan, Sweden.

The Imperial palace in Las Vegas is really nice. I saw a lot of great cars there but I understand many arent there any more alot were sold. My friends have been to the Corvette museum in Bowling green Kentucky they said its really nice.

I believe they do. The special attraction was muscle cars when I went.

They usually rotate the collection fairly slowly, since the first floor is a collections of natural settings showcasing different era's of the car. The second floor is rotated faster, with the featured shows like "Cars of the Heads of State"

But it's always worth a trip..
