Chrysler recalling 265,000 for engine fires

Featured Replies

Damn... I was hoping someone was going to say something was wrong witht he Hemi. <_<

Oh, thank the Lord that I escaped that recall!

My car is a 1996 Breeze with the 2.0 litre engine, so I'm fine on both counts. Who knows what the future may bring, though.

My car seems to have its quirks...

Like about a month ago my Check Engine lamp illuminated. So, I took it to Team Hillsdale Chrysler Dodge Jeep (they are amazing and very nice-I would recommend them) to find out why. Well, it seems that there was an engine misfire. So, they recommended new spark plugs/wires. Being a dealership, the price was like $145 something, but no more light! Good, I thought.

Well, the next day when I went out to start my car, guess what? That's right- the damn light was back on. So I called over there, and the Service Advisor said, "You're kidding me!" I said "No" and so she said to bring my car back over there. She said they were going to keep my car overnight to try and replicate the problem (the diagnostics system indicated engine misfire again). In the service bay, one of the technicians said that it seemed odd as the fuel injectors were maintaining pressure and everything. So, they gave me a 2005 Dodge Caravan to drive home in. How nice! The advisor said for me to call the next day before I came in for my car. So, the next day I called at 10:30 am, and I had to leave a message. I didn't get a call back until like 5:00 pm!!! Apparently, they had some technicians call off due to illness.

The verdict on my car? No problems noted, Unable to replicate issue.

Price of return service? NOTHING! Free!

Statement delivered before I left? "If the light comes back on, bring it back." !!!
