December 8, 200916 yr I just showed the wagon to a local guy who seems very interested. That would be the last of my vehicles that is currently roadworthy. I need to find something fast.
December 8, 200916 yr Well (no lie) I once saw an 80's Corolla with a plow on it. I'm sure that puts HD pickups to shame.
December 8, 200916 yr Well (no lie) I once saw an 80's Corolla with a plow on it. I'm sure that puts HD pickups to shame. I saw an '78-79 Monte Carlo w/ a plow in Ohio years ago. Dented and rusty, brown as most '78-79s were, plastic front bumper and grille gone w/ the plow attached directly to the frame, apparently.
December 8, 200916 yr Author No Asian makes, at all, ever. Yeah, I know you guys are kidding - but I have to make sure no one misunderstands.
December 8, 200916 yr It's a diesel, it's a coupe, it's an inline 5-cylinder and there are no B-pillars!! Perfect plow vehicle! Hell, I don't even like Benz all that much and I'm tempted.
December 8, 200916 yr I could see if Dominic wanted to sell the ToadSmasher we rebuilt a year ago.....positrack and lt-1

December 8, 200916 yr Author I'll have to buy something very soon. I may just go for the cheapest POS truck I can find, and sort the rest out later.
December 8, 200916 yr From my company's online classifieds: 97 DODGE RAM VAN 3500 EXTENDED – 92.414K mi. a/c, ps, am/fm stereo, free of any major defects, Clean title, gd cond. $2,700 neg. Romi, 287-7664 or [email protected]. I might actually know this person through a friend...
December 8, 200916 yr Author Thanks for the lead,Z. But I'm not quite ready to give up on getting a GM truck. Even an ancient POS, since they are familiar turf for me. In fact, I may call about that well-worn '87 3/4 ton I posted in the other thread. Finding just the right truck isn't likley to happen as quickly as I need it to. And everything sort of pales in comparison to the one that I lost by minutes on Friday. Who knows? Maybe I'll feel differently in the morning, but that's where my head is right now.
December 8, 200916 yr Jeep...think Jeep...Wrangler....you are going into a deep sleep...you will buy a Wrangler...your eyelids are getting heavy...say it after me...Wrangler...Wrangler...Wrangler... Chris
December 8, 200916 yr Go wash your mouse out with soap, DF. You know I'd walk first. It's already early in the evening and that boy ain't right.
December 9, 200916 yr http://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/1499602757.html One '71 Blazer for a thousand-bucks coming right up. PA and WV are near, right? I think this has potential. Edited December 9, 200916 yr by whiteknight
December 9, 200916 yr Author That Blazer would be a great project - but a project isn't what I need at the moment.
December 9, 200916 yr No Asian makes, at all, ever. Yeah, I know you guys are kidding - but I have to make sure no one misunderstands. So long as you don't hate those of us that do enjoy a few of the Asian cars, we are cool. I don't think anyone expects you to ever have a Hyundai Genesis in your garage...unless you meet a MILF who happens to own one already and decide to shack up. Chris
December 9, 200916 yr You could use it as a plow truck this winter, as a DD after that, and restore it in the future. I was also digging around Phily's CG to see what T/As are turning up and found this: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/1491189600.html I would suggest this, but it's more of a garage queen than a workhorse: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ctd/1501349285.html

December 9, 200916 yr Author That Blazer I considered for about 30 seconds or so. The T/A listing has been flagged, so I can't comment on that one.
December 9, 200916 yr That Blazer I considered for about 30 seconds or so. The T/A listing has been flagged, so I can't comment on that one. That's odd. I can still view both listings for both Blazers.
December 9, 200916 yr this wouldn't hold up to the rigors of the plow? its got all wheel drive! in any case, it's probably more sturdy than a tundra.
December 9, 200916 yr Author The snow would laugh at that thing, Reg. The truth is, it really takes a fullsize truck to do the job. A half ton can do it, but a 3/4 ton is so much better.
December 9, 200916 yr Author I'm leaning toward the el cheapo '87 3/4 with the western plow. It needs a master cylinder and inspection, but it would do the job for $1,800. If I do that, I can then take my time finding something else.
December 9, 200916 yr This is it. http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/1475810640.html Basic. I like it. Also appears reasonably "unmolested".
December 9, 200916 yr I like it also. Basic...what you need right now. Should free up other funds to help you make the life changes you want to make. ...and it's not like you don't know how to fix a GM truck... Chris
December 10, 200916 yr Anyone near Florence MA who would be willing to go take a look? It's about an hour from me according to google maps. Call the seller and see if it's worth checking out and let me know. I may be off on Fri, but definitely could look at it on Sat or Sun.
December 10, 200916 yr Author Thanks BP, I may just do that. I'll let you know via PM. Still debating about the low-buck option with myself.
December 11, 200916 yr Looked at a very disappointing truck today - the hunt goes on. Was that the basic one?
December 11, 200916 yr Author No, it was one more local to me. I have a few others to see tomorrow, one that I just now found. Waiting on a return call or e-mail.
December 11, 200916 yr Author Bought a ROPOS this morning for a grand. Not what I wanted to do, but it runs, the plow works, and the tires are good. It will do until something better comes along. I'm not even sure that getting it inspected will be much of an option, but the driveway will get plowed. I will pick it up later today.
December 11, 200916 yr Author I still want the dually, but the seller hasn't responded to e-mail or voicemail yet.
December 11, 200916 yr Author Some us still like ROPOS's. As soon as I get a ride to go pick it up, I'll take some pics.
