January 13, 200620 yr WHEN AND IF THE ULS COMES OUT CADILLAC SHOULD JUST REALLY COPY THE NEW LS460... THAT CAR IS AMAZING. THE LS460 IS A BREAK THROUGHT CAR. EIGHT SPEED AUTO REAR RECILNE SEATS ICE BOX MP3-HOLDS 4K SONGS AUTO PARKING SYS CADILLAC SHOULD JUST COPY THOSE FEATURES AND PUT IN THEIR NEW TRUE FLAGSHIP THE LS460 MAKES ME SAY FORGET THE NEW S-CLASS AND WHO CARES ABOUT THE 2009 BMW 7. THE DTS IS WONDERFUL BUT NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR THE S,7,A8. ALSO THE STS INTERIOR IS BORING. THE DTS INTERIOR IS SO CLASSY. COMPARED TO THE STS. CHROME TOUCHES EVERYWHERE. ITS SORT AUDI LEXUS LIKE.
January 13, 200620 yr No, no copying. Especially no autopark system. If you can't operate the car, don't buy it.
January 13, 200620 yr The LS has profited from bargain-basement pricing - cheaper than the GS 430. It seems the new model will be much more expensive, and it's yet to be seen how many Lexus can sell at those prices, especially since it is still significantly smaller than the majority of competitors, even in long-wheelbase form. Competitors will not stay still either—BMW is prepearing anew generation 7-Series and the next STS and ULS (hopefully they will return to the XTS designation for the production model) should be significant steps forward for Cadillac. We have also yet to see if Nissan will get it right next time with replacements for the Cima and President, potentially far more significant for Infiniti than the new LS will be for Lexus.

I still prefer FTS. don't no why.
January 13, 200620 yr And for that matter DTS makes me think of the DT's. Neither of which are positive connotations.

Next time.. don't use caps. In the internet world..using caps is the equivalent to yelling. Cadillac shouldn't copy.. they need to innovate. New technologies that nobody else uses yet. For example... the night vision.. Everyone said it was useless technology but now we are seeing more luxury divisions testing the technology out. LS460 may have a lot of features.. but it still lacks that German engineering touch that makes vehicles like the S-Class and 7-series so desirable. Besides.. the LS460 has a lot of "features" that other manufacturers are already using including the rear recline seats, the icebox, the auto parking system, and an MP3 player. Nothing breakthrough in my book except for the 8-speed transmission.. which is considered by some people as over the top. Styling is nothing to write home about either. Cadillac should definately not copy styling. Lexus could've made this car stunning.. instead.. they made it look pretty plain compared to an Audi A8, BMW 7-series, and the last generation S-class(new one is pretty plain looking too) oh...and regarding names for Cadillac .. did anyone else notice that DTS spelled backwards is STD? Interesting. Edited January 13, 200620 yr by Cadillacfan
January 13, 200620 yr The ULS should be at least 450hp range and at least 6sp auto (8 speed if you must but honestly what can an 8 speed do fo you?) It should feature only high end materials on the interior. Real wood, expensive leather, maybe leather dash, giant nav screen/radio, rear high definition lcd displays, built in dvd, satellite television/internet and every other high tech goodie. Who cares how it corners at 50 m.p.h. or any of that blah, blah, blah autorag stuff. If you can afford a ULS, you can afford a driver. The car must be about passenger comfort and high style.
January 13, 200620 yr What is the point of 380 hp if you can't even park the car yourself? The point of having multiple gears is to keep the engine in it's powerband. This is mostly important for I4s and V6s. Big V8s with lots of power don't need lots of gears in everyday driving. Skipshift in the Corvette proves it. The 4000lbs. '94 Roadmaster hardly downshifts to get up a hill here in Western PA. It does just fine with a 4-speed and still manages to be an 8 second car designed in 1993. 8 speeds = more $h! to break or penis envy.
January 13, 200620 yr FTS still makes me think "F— This" i think Fleetwood Touring Sedan. XTS just doesn't look right
