So, basically, I have to sell the Buick. And soon.

I'm thinking perhaps a car lot would buy it. I have two local places in mind that specialize in older cars, one of which I'm going to call tomorrow.

Every e-mail through Craigslist has been either from spammers or window shoppers (98 percent spam, 2 percent window shopping). Everyone who has called has never followed-through. I'm beginning to lose hope and I have to pay for my T/A before the seller changes his mind on holding it deposit free.

I called a place today that gave me a 1-800 number to a junkyard. Fucking assholes. I hope the salesman that referred me to that place gets coal for Christmas. Or better yet, a ground-shaking boot to the balls.

$3,500 is a fair price (I would take a $3,250 cash offer if someone was serious about buying it), I've come to find. If I drop the price by $1,000 to $1,500, I would be giving it away. It's rust free, has good paint, and bunch of spare parts, and if someone had a 383 Stroker to drop in it, they wouldn't have to buy anything except for a beefier torque converter for the car to handle the extra torque. Plus, even if it did still have the original NA 3.8L V6, it would be an even harder sell. It's a turbo V6 or a V8 or nothing in these cars.

My car only needs the interior finished, which would take about a day with the right tools, some paint thinner or adhesive promoter, interior paint, and some time. Someone could even try to re-dye the sunvisors and upper door panels with some fabric dye (but I wouldn't suggest it).

There's nothing wrong with a Bick, they made some sweet cars in their day. And that new Riggle is shaping up nice.

New problem: I now have a bridge to burn.

Bridge One: 1979 Trans Am, Olds 403-powered, automatic, no T-tops; needs headliner, paint, two areas of rust repair. With this T/A, I trade off the Bick Riggle. There should be some boot to go along with it as my special Chirstmas asking price for the Riggle is $2,950 and the T/A's asking price is $2,000, and knowing what I do know an even trade would be asinine.

Bridge Two: Wait for the Buick to sell, buy the 1977 4-speed car with Hurst/Hatch tops that's waiting for me, which doesn't need a headliner or rust repair, just a console, paint, bell housing, and engine. Like I said in another thread, the T/A without the 383 Stroker the owner put in it has a $2,200 price tag and knows where I can find both a 1973 400 and a 1977 T/A 400 and a bell housing for $300 - $350 total. There's the cost of paint and the owner said he would also paint it for me for $400 to $500, provided I buy the paint.

Which bridge should I burn? Both of them is not an answer.

WK- can you get in touch with the GSCA or other turbo Buick clubs and see if they'd be willing to help 'save' a nice 'build' Buick by running an ad thru their clubs ?? A long shot, and maybe not nearly as prompt as you need...
