December 24, 200916 yr Post your PC hardware in this thread! It'll be great to see who has what, and if anyone wants suggestions for parts, they can always look at this thread for ideas. Captain's Fragbox CPU: Phenom 955 OC'd at 3.7GHz MoBo: MSI 790FX GD-70 GFX: Radeon 4870 1GB HD 1: OCZ Vertex SSD 30GB HD 2: OCZ Agility SSD 60GB RAM: G.Skill 1333MHz DDR3 (7-7-7-21) Power: Corsair 750TX Cooler Master Hyper 212+ Heatsink Cooler Master HAF 922 Samsung 21.6 Monitor The Hyper 212+ heatsink is fantastic for the money. It keeps my 955 at just under 40 Celsius under load on Prime 95, even after a few hours. Idle is 26 degrees, which isn't show stopping, but it only really works its magic when at load. Not too shabby for a 'middleweight!' I Will likely move to two CF'd 5770's in the future. Edited December 24, 200916 yr by Captainbooyah

December 24, 200916 yr Author I only slid my multiplier to 18.5. It was easy enough, and I'm not too concerned about raw speed at the moment. I'm not out to win benchmark competitions.

I'm not out to win benchmark competitions. yeah, me neither. oh forgot 1 other thing about my case, the 2 stock fans are on low. lol higher speeds seem to only help cool the NB when i'm not gaming.

December 25, 200916 yr I want to upgrade soon. My current hardware is mostly 2 years old. x_x But thanks to consoles, I don't really have a big reason to upgrade since game graphics have been stalled for the last 2 years, with some notable PC-only exceptions. WTG consoles, saving me money!

WTG consoles, saving me money! 2 years old... at least it'll still meet lots of games' requirements... something my previous AMD athlon XP with AGP graphics couldn't do.

With the update from Xmas, I figure she'll get one last hurrah before I work toward my next big build, which will be a year or so off.
June 25, 201015 yr 17 watts?! That's not too shabby! I know a pair of 4870's can ramp up to 500W when being stressed, so I'm feeling a little guilty. Congrats on the X3 unlock. yeah. 17w... only problem is now my 19" crt isn't really getting any movement, i've turned down the brightness ~50% so it should be less likely to burn in. i put the pc into sleep when i don't expect to use it w/i an hour or so. i tell you my original x3 crapped the bucket back before thanksgiving? should have known it would, dual channel died 2nd day i had it. sounds like mem controller was faulty.
