Yeah and since Wawa will be the only store open, you won't be able to zip down there and pick up an odd clip, etc., if it breaks. Have fun, Camino.

I waited until today, it was far too easy to stay in a food coma yesterday - and that felt great, so that's what I did.

The job went ok today - only took a few hours. I replaced the rotors,calipers, pads and one flexible front line (the other one was too stubborn, so I took a raincheck on that). The pedal isn't quite as good as I'd like it to be, but that will be handled when the new flex hose goes in.

The factory brackets which hold the connenction between the hard lines and the flex hoses is absurdly weak (by design)- GM really cheaped-out there. It was really annoying when trying to loosen the flex hose. That, and a badly installed bleeder valve on one new caliper, were the only issues. I just salvaged the bleeder from the old caliper.

The Tahoe now stops without all of the drama that the hyper-extended, and possibly frozen, old calipers and toasted rotors were causing. The old pads were totalled as well. All in all, a successful day saving a few bucks.

For my next trick, I'm going to try to find a decent set of used tires on factory rims to buy.

Too bad you aren't in Columbus. With the blue million Cash For clunker trucks that came through the pick and pull on Groveport road, you could have your pick of some really decent wheels and tires.

I'll get some decent pics before too long, and keep evryone posted. So far, I really like the "barn door".

Looked like a really decent truck. I take it this one is in better shape than the one you just sold?

For the most part it is. The body is in great shape with no rust, and the interior is the updated version. It's also 3 years newer and has barn doors rather than a detached tailgate.

I guess I "traded-up", but it was more a case of timing. I had to get something sold and the Blazer went quickly, if something else had gone then it would likely still be around.

I miss the manual and in some ways I liked the earlier style of interior better.

But this thing is fun, and probably not my last one of these.
