I like the way they made the split rear window, so you can reach into the bed... no 'Camino I know of had that "feature".

WTF is on the roof? A spoiler?

The Danbury Mint made a diecast 1/25th scale '57 Chevy El Camino Phantom that was available in 2007 and/or 2008:

It's a shame that this model is no longer available new from DM.

Aftermarket made them.

I remember the flyer for the DM kit.

I plan to build a few 1:25th scale El Camino phantoms eventually...I've gathered the parts to do a '55 (the AMT '55 Nomad kit has parts for the El Camino conversion), a '62 (using the roof and bed from a '59), and a '70 Impala-based one (using custom parts from the MPC '70 Bonneville kit). Scale Auto Magazine had an article about 25 years ago w/ conversions that modelers built from '61-64 Impalas.

I remember seeing what looked like a GM-issue scale model of a '61/62 in an (unfortunately) un-captioned old photo.

Looked just like the Promo models that GM issued for production cars - never solved that mystery.

Could be a promo someone modified into a El Camino, or an annual kit painted to look like a promo. The older annual kits shared tooling w/ the promos, though the promos were made in a different type of plastic and molded in color.

Seeking to burn the 'geoamino' out of everyone's eyeballs :

Consider it burned. That's cool.
