CES 2010

Featured Replies

would one thread (this one) be a good place to post any news that interests you coming from the show?

Ya... I had a ticket to go w/ my manager, but for various reasons, ended up not going. Would have been interesting.

I cannot think of a better locale for a discussion on CES.

I think this thread belongs in the Ford Europe news section.

??

The CES conference is in Las Vegas this week. Has nothing to do w/ Ford Europe.

I haven't read or seen anything that has made me go WOW from CES yet.

previous ones? or this one? starts tomorrow. lots of news should come out at midnight from the manufactures websites.

About the only thing I've heard about was Nexus One announced yesterday before the show. I should get an email tonight from my manager w/ any interesting updates.

It hasn't started yet? Oh, well lets see what they bring out tomorrow.

There is a keynote tonight by Steve Ballmer..going on right now. Next week I will probably regret not going.

'3D TV's' are supposed to be a big deal this year. However, they were the big deal last time too, and it still seems like nobody really cares.

not that it was surprising , but the intel i3 and i5 will be hot items this year.

I still don't get the hype w/ 3D TVs.. I guess the TV makers are trying to find the next big thing now that HDTVs have reached maturity and a broad market.

I can't really get into the tablet PC hype either..been lots of buzz about them.

i think i read a while back that japan is making plans to move to 2x HD (2160p) in several years...thinking it might have been 2016?

a very poor article for understanding it but..

http://www.allfreesource.com/news/amd-create-newest-triple-core-laptop-processor.html

amd's venture into more than dualcore for laptops , 6 core for desktops and a slimmer chip for laptops too. most of this will just come out before summer though. i'm hoping for just more detail soon.
