Michigan to San Antonio, Texas them drove with a hottie for 2 hours south to Corpus Christi.

Then San Antonion, Texas to Knoxville, Tenn for a layover them from there back to Detroit.

Alaska to Detroit. 1 way. I do alot more driving then flying. Weird though. I love going a short trips with Supercubs or Cessena's (SP)

Orlando's cool; it's been for vacation 3 of the 4 visits.. so that's easy.

Pheonix didn't strike me as anything special. I *loved* LA. Really lived it up all three times I was out there (I *love* expense accounts). Montreal was a cool city -- it was winter when I was there -- colder than snot.. and it was all-star weekend, so no taking in a Canadian game at the forum.. but the city has some history - which makes it cool. Got drunker than I've ever been there (again, I *love* expense accounts). Got a wickedly funny story that goes along with it.. involves dildo, a company dinner, and some bar hopping. I've never been so afraid to have my suitcase checked @ customs.. Las Vega$ is getting boring. Been there - done that. I'd still go again. Chicago's ok. Wasn't there long enough on either trip to really comment. Denver was alright. Nothing struck my fancy - wasn't there too long either. The view in Salt Lake City is breathtaking. When booking a trip sometime, take Delta and just have a stop-over in Salt Lake City. Exit the plane and find a window. The mountain view is simply amazing. I really enjoyed my time in Atlanta. Great history. Lots to see and do. Ate at some fabulous restaurants (I *love* expense accounts). WTF is with the waffle-house's on every freaking corner? I swear, I exitted the freeway in Duluth, GA and at the top of the exit ramp was a waffle house. If I would've taken a left to take the bridge across the freeway I just exited, there was another waffle house on the other side of the bridge. You could literally stand on the doorstep of one and read the sign for the other. WTF is that all about? Food was ok -> nothing that would dictate building two of the f'ers a block away from each other.

I'm in the same boat there.. Born in upstate NY, still living here. the furthest east I've been is capecod/boston, the furthest west I've been is ohio, furthest north is toronto, and the furthest south I've been is richmond, Va.

Well, as of my last good pilot's certificate, Montgomery to Mobile, Montgomery to Atlanta (that was fun, a Cessna coming to land with 747s all around). Montgomery to Birmingham, Montgomery to Beaufort, SC, Tuscaloosa, AL to Pensecola, FL to Corpus Christi, Montgomery to Dallas, Montgomery to Nashville, Montgomery to Columbus, MS and Columbus GA.....and by then my medical certificate expired and I didn't have the money to get it renewed, so I lost my flight certification. Boston's Logan International to Orlando International and back again, once and only once, when I went to Disney World for Christmas in '03. Flying sucks; it's like taking the bus, only much longer.

I've flown from denver to minneapolis, minneapolis to london, frankfurt to detroit, detroit to denver, and denver to houston. My dad's old boss also used to fly us around wyoming because he had private jets...

1987: Vienna Austria -via- Hamburg, Germany to JFK (NY, NY) & then JFK -to- Logan the same night (when I moved to the USA)

1989: JFK -to- Prague Czechoslovakia (visiting grandparents and relatives, flying solo at 10 Y.O.)

1992: Boston -to- Hamburg -to- Vienna (visiting relatives in Slovakia again, flying solo at 13 Y.O.) Lufthansa is such an awsome airline!!!

I love flying. The G-force of the take off is, in my opinion the best part of flying. Every time I've flown I loved it. Even in 1989 when I flew on Czech airline's antiquidated Ilyushin 62(?) with the quad engines mounted on the tail Iwas not scared. A noisy, uncomfortable and rickety POS like that probably should have made me alarmed but the flight went off without a single problem. I do not even remember any terbulance unlike my two experiences wiht DC10s and one wiht an Airbus where terbulace got a little scary.

There's only one time I got nervous durring a flight.... the second time I've flown to Florida the girl next to me was praying the rosary out loud and was sweating bullets. It started to freak me out after a while... her nervous energy rubbed of on me. I thought to myself if we die I'm at least going to grab her boob before we go down. She was cute and mildly flirtateous.

Hey, man, the old Soviet birds are all pretty tough. Unlike most of the new Western planes, they had to frequently operate out of rough, unimproved runways in Angola, Algeria, Lybia, Mongolia, China, not to mention their own country. A look at the main gear tires on that Ilyushin you posted shows you that. I remember seeing one myself, a Cubana IL-62 in the Bahamas. Looked pretty rough. The quad-jet setup is an interesting one and only shared by two other jets, the British Vickers VC-10 and Lockheed's Jetstar.

No where... but I gone many places via a car. Me and my grandma have been to California and Florida... both more than once and in her old 97 Sunfire. Been all over PA (almost literally). Never flown though... but want to.

Well, I'm a BIG plane fan....so I love any chance to fly. I've flown SO much over my life, I could never list all the trips here.....(I travel a bit for work...)

Some notables.....

LAX - Heathrow (nonstop) - Wonderful flight on an American Airlines 777, 10.5 hours in flight going, 11.5 hours returning....exit row seats both times.

LAX - Frankfurt (via Atlanta) - I've learned to fly nonstop on long-haul flights. This trip seemed MUCH longer than London due to the 3-hour layover in Atlanta. Plus, I "only" got to fly on Delta 767 planes.....a significant reduction in comfort and amenities versus the AA 777 flight to Heathrow.

LAX - Anchorage (via Seattle) - There is one non-stop Alaska Airlines flight from LAX to Anchorage and it's a surprisingly long 6-hour flight. My schedule only allowed the stopover in Seattle, though.

LAX - Honolulu - Wonderful experience on Hawaiian Airlines....and a DC-10 (this was a few years ago before they replaced their DC-10s with 767 aircraft.

LAX - Maui - Worst flight experience I've ever had....on a United 767. We were delayed in LAX for 6 (!) hours and I couldn't even go home and come back because they told us we had to "stay by the gate." United also issued us meal "vouchers" to use at any restaurant in the terminal. Problem is, no one would accept the vouchers because "United doesn't pay their bills."

I'm elite status on American....so I almost always get an exit row because I can pick it online when I make my flight reservations.

On the other airlines, I get to the airport at LEAST 2 hours early and many times I can get an exit row because I'm checking in so damn early and they hold many exit row seats for airport check-in.

The IL 62 had an extremely narrow cabin. The plane had a cramped two rows on both sides of the plane and a narrow center aisle. It was like a super long puddle hopper.
