Just saw a commercial for the Lucerne CXL on tv, in which it said the car was quieter than some Lexus model, Acura model, and Infiniti model (it named the specific models, I just didn't catch them all) and started at $25,990, I think it was. But what really perked my ears up was the very last statement: "Buick... beyond precision, not beyond your reach." How do you like that line?

I do think the "Beyond Precision" will be highly effective (carry it at least 3 years), less so for the "not beyond your reach" portion.

I think the not beyond your reach thing was alright, but I wouldn't abuse it.

I like Beyond Precision very much.

On a slightly altered note, I saw another Lucerne today, my second one, and it was a Black CX... let me tell you, this was a base model and it was GORGEOUS! The color really does make a difference!

To add, the chrome ventiports, chrome around the windows, the alloy wheels, well, it just looked upscale and classy.

Oh, it's "okay" but I for one STILL think they ought to go back to "Premium American Motorcars."

That says SO much about Buick for me and I think it's been the best tagline they ever had....

Beyond Precision is a great way to go head to head wiht Lexus.

"Premium American Motorcars" has that old world feel to it, complete with British accent, lol. I like it.

I've only heard Lucerne ads compare it to the ES330 in quietness.

It's no "BREAKTHROUGH!"

Buick'site has now been slightly revised to include the phrases "Beyond Precision. Not Beyond Your Reach." It also puts emphasis on comparisons of the various Buick models vs. competitors' vehicles.

I like they 'Beyond Precision' part...something about 'Not Beyond Your Reach' has a negative vibe to me..

The "Not beyond your reach" is cheesy and almost sounds like something thrown out at a board meeting for a cheap laugh.

I like it better, as a full phrase. Beyond precision is a "whats that", it does not exist. Now when you add, not beyond your reach its showing contrast and brings the first part of the statement into perspective.

You are so damn right. This one says it all. It really celebrates what Buick is all about and no other slogan can be confused with it. I think it also has longevity, like Cadillac's "Standard..." tag line.

Hey, BMW has something with "precision" in it. I'm not crazy about it. Too much overlap with another automaker's word craftsmanship.

Buick has had many different slogans throughout the past couple of years. They can't decide on them!

"The Spirit of American Style"

"We're not just a car company anymore"

"Dream on"

"Dream UP"

"Beyond Precision"

..I'm sure there wuill be many more in the next couple years.
