Saab's Jay Spenchian

Featured Replies

Did anyone see Autoline Detroit this past weekend? They had on Jay Spenchian, General Manager of Saab Cars USA. After I watched the show and heard what this guy had to say I thought about it for a split second and...Saab is doomed if they have people like this running the show. This guy is part of the reason Saab is not doing as well as it should be. He may be credited with turning around Cadillac, but I think somebody was holding his hand so he could color within the lines.

David Welch of Business Week was one of the panelists asking questions. At one point he asked Jay a question and his reply had nothing to do with the questiion he asked. When they panned back to Mr. Welch the look on his face(what a dumbass) said it all and I almost spit my breakfast out I was laughing so hard. Sadly, I do not remember the question he asked but I do know it was not anything about the workings of microelectronics. Let me know what all of you think.

Maybe he was nervous in front of the camera?

I didn t see the show, however at www.autoweek.com on Jan19 he is quoted as saying that Saab will likely get a cross-over vehicle(with aggressive design and performance) in the near future. He did not specify platform or build country.
