Wierd CTS sighting..

Featured Replies

Coming home tonight I saw a very strange CTS at a light...white, but the hood and front fenders were flat black, the stock fascia, grille and headlights gone---replaced with a large black flat, thick steel bumper and a bull bar (looked like something from an off-roader). Round headlights and fog lights bolted to the top of the bumper. Black steel wheels. Looked very mean and serious.. I should have done a u-ee and followed it.. it was dark, but it was at a well-lit intersection..... (and I only had one glass of wine with dinner, so I'm not going nutters).

Maybe something specially built for the Dept. of Homeland Security (Urban Assault Vehicle). :)

It was a bumper w/ bull bar similar to this on this Jeep (the bumper looked taller)..with lights mounted on the bumper behind the bar..

My guess is it was probably a wreck that someone decided to customize..very strange..I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

I'll say it was a border control officer.

But I'm wrong. :)

Denver's a bit far from the border... but you never know..

Sounds like something from a Mad Max Movie

Yeah, we have plenty of them here, I'm sure...probably come up I-25 from El Paso.

We also have a lot of dealers from Mexico buying cheap used cars here at auctions and driving/towing them back to Mexico...I see alot of Mexican-plated trucks towing '80s clunkers down I-25 at night on the weekends.

Right on!!!

My guess is this. Some young kid smashes up his CTS. His insurance/driving record is so bad he can't afford to file an insurance claim, he has to fix the car out of pocket. He can not afford the front fascia but has leftover parts from his CJ and a welder. Just a guess. I've heard stranger stories.
