Rehash: Olds slogans

We've had one built for you.

It's a great feeling to have an Olds around you.

Dislike:

The power of intelligent engineering.

Not your father's Oldsmobile.

God..."Memory Lane Central", loved those trim 81-87 RWD Cutlass Supreme coupes (especially in Brougham and Calais/Salon form).

Good: There's a special feel in an Oldsmobile. I also actually like 'Not your Father's Olds.'

The worst was 'Start Something' as it meant nothing.

"One Foot in the Grave" (unused, circa 1997)

Good: Oldsmobile escape machine, Theres a Special Feel in an Oldsmobile

Bad: Start Something, Its not your father's Oldsmobile

Forget slogans I used to have a smile plastered to my face when Oldsmobile Achieva SCTs raced alongside imports like BMW & Porsche in the Trans Am series.

I remember one time when a Acura NSX was having a bit of trouble passing an Achieva in a series of curves. Hilarious. What made it funnieer was that a week earlier I talked my parents into buying a brand new Achieva. Yes, as a 14 year old car nut I told my parents which car to buy... and they listened. :D

^^^ haha I talked my parents into buying a 2000 intrigue gls instead of moving to a park ave to replace my moms totalled olds regency when I was 13. They have thanked me for it ever since, now I have total veto power over whatever car they are condiering.

"Its your money - demand better" -- people obviously took that too literally... and didn't buy any Olds...

"Oldsmobile...always a step ahead". Circa 1972? Still can't get that radio jingle out of my brain.
